Battleborn is a beautiful and fun game but it is completely unplayable for me! I do not have a steady internet connection so playing multiplayer games is difficult and sometimes impossible for me but I thought it would be safe to play the story by myself and I would not need a good connection but for battleborn that is just not the case. I love video games and I love the way battleborn plays but the more games that require a strong and steady internet connection to play the game at all makes it impossible for me to actually enjoy the game.

I have really bad internet too. I basically get disconnected after every mission due to bad syncing, but I don’t really have any issue playing the campaign solo. I recommend trying a different character or changing up your tactics. You can take things a bit slow and cautiously, and you’ll find it quite easy to stay alive and play lag-free.
If you have a friend with steady internet connection, you could duo the story with him/her. If you get disconnected, your friend still stays in game, and you can rejoin that game. I know, it’s still frustrating, but at least you can play. Also, I’d call my ISP, because steady internet connection is getting more and more required for most things, and not just ie. gaming.
