@Gulfwulf: Under “Detailed skill info” the “Sal Skill and Gear Guide” is actually linking to Sljm’s damage formula guide…

@Gulfwulf, some link fixes
- “Breakdown of Gun Damage” was redone by Sljm as Basic Gun Damage
- “Critical Damage While Gunzerking” has been ported
- “5 Shots or 6” was ported
- “Get Some” was ported
- as @VaultHunter101 mentioned, the “Sal Skill and Gear Guide” links “Basic Gun Damage”. To my knowledge there is no active thread at the moment for his skills ( other than Chuck’s skill guide which we are working on porting - stay tuned ) so might as well be deleted.

I still have a hard time with Inconceivable, I’m a trigger puller I couldn’t even begin to count how many times I have died from empty clips. Holding triggers down feels odd to me for shooter games. I’ll just need to adapt.

I would not sweat that honestly, as if you’re playing Borderlands for the first time (especially working with Inconceivable in this case), there’s a lot of things that will look foreign for you.
I wasn’t an FPS guy then though, so the elements that the franchise had along with the essence of the FPS game made me struggle as well.

Actually on that note, it does admittedly feel good for Hoarder Salvador not having Inconceivable… not just because it threw 5 Shots or 6 all out of whack but because honestly when it came to one-to-one weapons (or, one ammo per shot) the gains in DPS is far more efficient that way than hoping for Inconceivable to kick in.

Actually, Inconceivable doesn’t screw with 5so6 at all, they can even combine on the same shot. This becomes very good if you use guns that consume more than one ammo per shot as it will give you ammo back when 5so6 alone wouldn’t.
I feel they are complimentary.

I apologize, that’s Money Shot it messes with, not Inconceivable. My mistake. XD
(Don’t ask me how I did that.)

You’re a mod, you could have updated it yourself.
Just kidding. Thanks for the head’s up, VH.

Any non-dlc build guides for Salvador at UVHM in BL2?
I am playing Salvador for the first time, and am trying to avoid the min/max formula for progression. This has, for me anyway, been a lot more fun than save quit farming for the best loot…
I am interested to see how far I can get with a non DLC build. Inspired a little by Major Slacks videos and others on non DLC builds…
I’m ok with using legendaries…
Just seeing what comes up, and leaving as many side quests as possible open.
At level 51 atm, and moving fairly doggedly through content…
My current loadout and skills
Any input or links appreciated.

While it will work better with DLC gear, the Deputy Sal build can be run using main game weapons (slag Rubi, coach gun). This has the advantage that you don’t need the full number of skill points to make the build work - the core is complete by level 50, so you have all those extra points to add as you see fit. The build does require more skill than a grog/harold or pimp/ahab, but that’s part of the attraction.

Many of the builds in the list use the Grog, but as VH stated a Rubi is sufficient. Dual kittens is another builds……but DLC.
Take a look at a Brawn build. This is a good blueprint
Low level UVHM is tough with Sal by the way.
Is it better to get a level 50 Ruby by switching back to TVHM (did not do that quest on TVHM) or waiting until I get it in UVHM - if I can get that far on current set up… Or is a case of both?
Yeah killing the warrior yesterday at TVHM was a very long process, and now even early enemies on UVHM require an insane number of slag + element criticals. Feels more like BL3 Mayhem 10… A positive of playing that mode maybe…

Get the TVHM one to get you started, and save the UVHM one for level cap or just before you decide to reset UVHM to help level (whichever comes first!)
There are other ways to get healing that will always be at your level, primarily Moxxi’s Good Touch (fire) or find a decent slag tool (SMG, homing/longbow slag transfusion grenade, etc).
It shouldn’t be that bad if you hit its crit spots, especially the chest - open that up and you have a window to do some significant damage (good time to break out the Badaboom). Using the right element also matters immensely - fire is obviously not good, but I think Warrior is immune or takes reduced damage from one of the other elements too?
It’s rough until late 50’s, after which the scaling starts to balance out a bit better. Hang in there!

Thanks for all the info…
That gun is really helping my current build. Thanks
Sadly I had a limited loadout and it was a long fight even with mouth crits.
Very true… esp finding a non-dlc shock weapon that can help with the rabids…

A Vladof shock launcher is good if you can find one - rapid fire, doesn’t have any weird trajectory issues, etc. Any AoE shock grenade as well, or a high RoF/large mag SMG/Plasma Caster. It’s the sort of thing it’s worth burning a few golden keys for if you have them (no real point in saving them for max level). If you’re on XBox, shoot me a PM with your GT and current level and I’ll see what I have on my mules.

Yeah the hunt for good non-dlc shock weapons continues. Trying for slag/shock Bone Shredder… A pain…
Have to say enjoyed using a Corrosive Triple Shotgun and Slag Boosted Shotgun Supreme, with a homing tesla for a lot of UVHM… Sadly now a bit under-level… Lots of fun with Money Shot…
Pretty much at heros pass now…
Still using non DLC items for UVHM… Not sure when to start the DLC now… Hmmmm…
On PS4. If anyone wants OP6 gear for Maya or Level 57 for gunzerker - I can help.
In hindsight I wish I’d kept a spread of different weapons and kit on mules from playing another character. So many great weapons thrown away - that could have sped up progression…
Having said that it makes the game challenging and enjoyable when you have to actually play to find gear…
I think I forgot that by end game in BL3… In a couple years I might just start fresh on that game too.
Again thanks for all the tips
