Yeah, Blizzard seem to be pretty toxic and unscrupulous. Mind you, 2k aren’t exactly top of my list of lovable corporations. Sigh. It’s a shame both of them have managed to give Battleborn such hard times.
Wait until BB goes F2P. I’m pretty sure it’ll pick and be what it was meant to be at launch.
I know that whole prospect is a ways off (probably till after all the season pass stuff is done), but I’m confident that things will turn around for BB
Fixed that for you.
Would question why they would “need to win” when they are several years ahead in terms of products and experience, not to mention in regards to their (somewhat rabid) fan base.
Seriously, they could sell s**t in bag with their name on it and people would still buy it.
Yay, greed.
It’s business, and like them or not they’re very good at it.
But did they really need to though? OW would’ve done well even if they had used their aggressive marketing. They would’ve been able to sell it simply on brand name alone, so did they really need to so heavy handed against BB?
I’m starting to think that Blizzard are getting desperate to keep people interested in their products, and they were scared that BB would rob them of some of their audience… not that it would’ve mattered anyway
I always knew you were this forum’s secret Hyperion spokesman

The recent YouTuber controversy was something not all gaming companies have lowered themselves too.
Ah, that was Warner Bros, my mistake.
Anyway I’m not a fan of a number of gaming companies. Money making and the games’ integrity gets a bit too close at times. Gearbox aren’t bad though. They have a record on featuring women in video games which I consider groundbreaking (and which Overwatch does not match) and are apparently pretty strong in employing women, which is a big issue (not just saying this because I want to be a community badass)
I think they’re just a naturally aggressive company when it comes to selling products. I can’t fault them for being good at their jobs. It would have been nice to see 2K go all out “Blizzard style” when marketing BB.

…Same, and I have a sad face each time I look at this:
I enjoy BB better than BL. Call me crazy all you want.
I would never call someone out for their gaming tastes (and neither should anyone else for that matter).
Touche. For me playing threw the story with different characters adds a new twist each time as well for the skill tree and possibilities are nearly endless.
No, not at all. I’m just saying people should respect each others taste in games.
…Same here, anyone care to define the Lunatic Fringe?
The Borderlands series are all I play other than BB and I only play them now when the Internet is broken.
(Because BB doesn’t work with a broken Internet)
Neither would I. Unless, you know, they like Duke Nukem Forever, then something has to be done.

OK…
You are CRAZY…LOL But I’m saying this tongue in cheek.
This is a good game. No question.
But…
BL2 was a GREAT game! A total classic and has remained viable for over 3 years.
IIRC GB had originally set a January release date. Then slipped it to May. That five months killed them IMHO. And yes Blizzard moved up their date but that date coincided with the May release. The could not have made the January release.
At least this is what I recall at the time so I may be wrong.
