I actually think that the differences were even worse back in BL2 days, due to things like community patches and certain tools that let you get whatever pieces of gear you needed. As a console player, I’d always roll my eyes whenever I’d watch any melee Zer0 video on YouTube, because the Youtuber would always have a perfectly rolled Hide of Terra which made a huge difference for damage. Or I’d laugh at the builds that people would put together on the forum that required a Bekah, Twister, Norfleet, etc. all with specific parts; something that was legitimately more or less impossible to obtain “correctly”.
I thought the re-roll feature was sorely needed even back then, but the Anointments definitely make it even more important now.
