I believe in last patch GB outline the things they are working on, and one of those things is adding a test dummy on Sanctuary. I don’t believe there were more details and the patch we hope it’s in comes out in less than a week so I know this is too late, but will a standard test be enough?

With Mayhem modifiers, and other posts showing that some modifiers don’t cancel out (sorry on mobile rn or I would try to link one), seems like there is going to be a lot of people wanting to test what really happens with certain combos. Like -50% shock, with no other damage boosts or nerfs, is it still better against shields than anything else (except radiation) on TVHM MM3?

Standard test dummy is a good start, just wondering what level of control people are really hoping for?

Sorry if I missed the post this should be on. Also, this is the first BL that’s made me want to test and then Mayhem 2.0 might change a lot of the desire/need for it.

I expect we’ll get a situation similar to TPS where we get a target each for Health, Shields and Armour.

In terms of my hopes, well I could go on for awhile but top of the list would be a granular control over mayhem modifiers. Eg I can select +50% shotgun and -25% critical hit damage but purposefully leave everything else off.

A way to proc kill skills and build stacks for kill related skills is also extremely high on my wish list.

Having a display that tracks damage done that I can reset at will would be great.

QoL things I’d like is for it to be close to an ammo machine and a respec station.

Pretty sure they said it’d be coming in December, so not this next patch. Unfortunately.

Honestly, I think a test dummy will largely be worthless and I think it also underscores the big complaint with the way mayhem modifiers work. Even without a test dummy how does anyone ever “test” a build or a weapon? To get max “difficulty” you have to put on M3 in TVHM but due to the lack of consistency you never know how any weapon or build will perform from map to map or play session to play session.

I can have a bad build or weapon and get hugely beneficial modifiers that make it a breeze to mow things down…then I can get hugely detrimental modifiers that make the best weapons in the game feel useless. There is no baseline of difficulty which means there is no way to “test” things properly. This is a primary complaint of how modifiers currently work and why each level of mayhem should be consistently more difficult than the last. Unfortunately, this is currently not the case and adding a test dummy won’t change that.
