I’ve never done it, but I’ve been planning on doing it for a while now, since I’ve been trying to do the last few things I never did in the game. This thread has inspired me to finally get off my ass and get it done. I’ll probably do it for the first time this week, as soon as I get the time to play.

Yeah, I should probably do this too…
Also the quest’s vibe reminded me strongly of the long, poem-riddled accounts of walking in Lord of the Rings, which put me into a state of page-skipping listlessness

Not surprised, since that is the reference. For me, the bit I tend to skip over in the book is the whole Frodo/Sam/Gollum swamps and canyons bit. Waaaaaaaaay to long. Tolkein really needed an editor!
Done it twice I think. Maya is definitely the best way to go. You don’t get anything special for it. Much easier to run up and kill him for the heads or skins, whichever it is.
done it several times and still have it available on several different level toons.
I’m thinking I did that mission in NVHM once, though I may be mistaken, do have a toon that just finished NVHM, guess I could ck it out and see if it is available in NVHM tonight
God yes, I’m with you there! I’ve read them once (although that was after having my wisdom teeth taken out, so it wasn’t a fair hearing) but my dad read them to me with impressive dedication, once when
I was quite young and then again when I was ill in my teens. I do find them entertaining, and there are some bits that are just fantastic (especially the orcs) but the long, bad poems, and long, sanctimonious descriptions of elves - ugh, barely endurable
It’s one of the few books I can say for certain that I think the film improves on. Those films are awesome!
And this is not off topic, it’s Gearbox’s fault.
However long the Geary quest takes, it will never take as long as reading the entire LotR trilogy under the blankets by flash-light! (Yes Mum, my light is out…)
And that is NOT a good book to drop on your nose! Especially if you have the one-volume edition

You know, there’s the beginnings of a joke in there somewhere…
still have it available on several different level toons.
It won’t disappear after you complete it - once you complete it, you can save, quit, restart, and it’ll be back fresh for another go (or do I misunderstand you)? For four red Hyperion chests, if you sprint the whole way and don’t engage anyone, you can do it fairly quickly.
You’re basically farming Sauron
I think I’d rather farm any raid boss then run that for 4 chest. Unless of course they have better drop rates.
iirc it is atleast guarantied purple.
In all the chest? If so that’s good enough for me
2 out of 3 chests, I believe. Not entirely sure, been awhile since I did a Geary run.
I’ve done it a couple times…
I need to try it with a Bane and Hoplite equipped like I’ve seen some people do.
…interesting.
yep, agree, to long a run just for 4 chests
it would have to be a guarantied Gold or Pearl before I would consider even farming that a couple of times (those I farm at any and all levels available). And the last time I did run that, if I recall right I got 1 Blue and the rest were Greens.
I did the run last night for the first time. No thanks, that was not for me. Save/Quit farming the train is ,much quicker and more fruitful.
i did the run with a bane smg
never again
