The Geary Gear Quest

However long the Geary quest takes, it will never take as long as reading the entire LotR trilogy under the blankets by flash-light! (Yes Mum, my light is out…)

And that is NOT a good book to drop on your nose! Especially if you have the one-volume edition  :head_bandage:

You know, there’s the beginnings of a joke in there somewhere…:sunglasses:
still have it available on several different level toons.
It won’t disappear after you complete it - once you complete it, you can save, quit, restart, and it’ll be back fresh for another go (or do I misunderstand you)? For four red Hyperion chests, if you sprint the whole way and don’t engage anyone, you can do it fairly quickly.

You’re basically farming Sauron

I think I’d rather farm any raid boss then run that for 4 chest. Unless of course they have better drop rates.

iirc it is atleast guarantied purple.

In all the chest? If so that’s good enough for me

2 out of 3 chests, I believe. Not entirely sure, been awhile since I did a Geary run.

I’ve done it a couple times…

I need to try it with a Bane and Hoplite equipped like I’ve seen some people do.

…interesting.

yep, agree, to long a run just for 4 chests

it would have to be a guarantied Gold or Pearl before I would consider even farming that a couple of times (those I farm at any and all levels available). And the last time I did run that, if I recall right I got 1 Blue and the rest were Greens.

I did the run last night for the first time. No thanks, that was not for me. Save/Quit farming the train is ,much quicker and more fruitful.

i did the run with a bane smg
never again

Is there a Geary run in the time trials?
Sorry for laziness, just seems it’d be easier to ask than dig through the thread.
If not, would anyone be interested in a little informal honor code friendly race for the thread? (Honor code as I’m on console)
No Breakneck Banshee obviously

I don’t think anyone answered this, so…

Once in Eridium Blight, you go up a path in the NE corner of the map. Once you meet Geary, you let him punch you once. He will then jump off the cliff, and the LotR easter egg will spawn. If he keeps going after you after the first punch, the whole “mission” is failed. If you continue up the path, you will find a red chest, and get the “Vault hunter vs Volcano” challenge.

You used to be able to drive all the way from Three Horns to Eridium Blight, but this was patched at some point. These days it’s more of a Banshee run, accompanied by Yakety sax.

I find out about this hidden quest 5 days ago while searching the internet for other BL2 related infos and I tried as soon as I could, of course: I went up to captain Flynt, killed him and his men than realised Claptrap’s boat is not docked there after you sail the first time

Backtracked down to the “oh so near to Liar’s Berg” dock and ran all the way to Eridium Blight until the volcano: I was afraid to die at the hand of lava splashes, but I was cautious enough and in the end
