again though her priority mark is to funky for her to be as viable as miko, alani or ambra⌠ive had that thing follow people all the way across the map, other times im 2 feet from them nd it doesnt land
It used to, that was fixed in the patch.
Reynaâs PT, is locked onto a horizontal plane for target detection when fired. I think the box is the height of the crosshair at launch. If your target is above or below that plane when you shoot it, PT wonât count them as a valid target, and cycles over to the next possible target. Thatâs why when someone jumps at the right time, or falls off a ledge, the shot goes wide or hits another target before them or behind them.
To counteract the issue, I try to wait for someone to be coming down on a landing, before i take the PT shot. itâs easier to target where someone will land, than trying to predict what plane theyâll be on when I want to fire midair. Most players know the jumping evasion game, is their safest option in a retreat, so trying to catch them mid jump or before they jump is harder.
good tip just about to hop on nd might give her a couple games
how recent? been about 2 weeks since i really played, been on that alani train
I donât remember exactly, but it was the one with Pendles, the new maps, and all the rebalancing.
@FlamesForAll Empress Lenore was the monarch of the Jennerit Imperium before Rendainâs coup. Sheâs all over the Lore for Jennerit characters.
Sheâs also strongly presumed to be the fourth or fifth of the new Battleborn to be released, along with a big clonky-looking LLC robot. Itâs presumed sheâs dead, but in the prologue, Rendain says she is not. Iâm not sure if itâs confirmed or just strongly rumored, but the current consensus is that she was sucked through a Varelsi portal, but remains alive.
Weâve seen her silhouette, and it looks like a youthful female with an enhanced arm like Rendain or Attikus, and what may be artificial stylized wings or fluted ornamentations on her back, somewhat reminiscent of those on Ambraâs big fancy hat.
In my lost thread, I speculated that Lenore might be a Support character for the Jennerit, sort of a battle leader who buffed allies on the front line while being able to hold her own in a fight. A âSkald,â from classic fantasy roleplaying, if you will.
VERY cool!
Thanks.
Ive gone through SOOOO little of the game lore, I really need to rectify that!
The Lore is really outstanding. Great depth on the characters and world (I LOVE good world building!), and the audio recording ones are almost universally hilarious or emotionally affecting. You really get the feels for our BB.
Thatâs exactly what makes Borderlands / Battleborn so bloody amazing and repeatable.
Gearboxâs artists / writers / developers are sooo good at filling in lore and side details and just little extra things that make the ganes and worlds and characters so engaging and full feeling.

Well, first off, based purely off of healing numbers, Alani, played properly, can equal Mikoâs healing pretty effectively. Alaniâs default attack speed is 2.67/sec. Weâll round that up and make it 3 seconds to fully charge her Osmosis (without stacking any attack speed, which any good Alani is going to do); 1 second for aiming gives us ~1 Wellspring/4 secs. A fully charged Osmosis at level 1 heals about 700, I believe (itâs hard to see because itâs really easy to hit level 2 quickly and most allies donât take enough damage to actually get the full heal); Mikoâs beam heals twice per second for ~70, I believe. This means that Miko is throwing out 140/sec focusing on a single target exclusively while Alani is capable of throwing out 175/sec (700 / 4).
When you throw in gear, it gets even more insane because Alani can double dip with attack speed (to decrease the time between her heals) and heal power. Itâs for this reason that I also prefer Whitewater (20% attack speed) to Go with the Flow (-.5 sec CD on hit).
On top of this, even at level 1, Alani gets an AoE (and/or maintenance) heal out of either Riptide or Geyser; at level 10, she can turn Emergence into a remarkably strong (and absolutely huge area) heal; at level 3, if she chooses, she can increase the strength of Wellspring by 15% (yes, it buffs all levels of Wellspring, not just the minimum); and, at level 5, she can give 30% DR to her full Wellspring target (30% DR is crazy strong, especially when you consider that she can also maintain it constantly with proper healing/attack rotation).
Something else a lot of people forget about Riptide is that, by default, it acts as a speed buff. You really shouldnât discount that.
All of this healing/support is also done without Alani having to constantly focus on a target either. When properly played, Alani can manage to match and surpass Mikoâs healing/support while still being an effective controller and attacker (in fact, the better of an attacker she is, the better healer she is able to be).
Miko is easy to play as a good healer/support; Alani is harder but has a much higher top end of performance.
You know, the gameplay is what makes people play the game, the lore is what makes people stick to it
I think Miko is a good healer because 1. âitâ can heal anyone at anytime to max health and 2. IT CAN HEAL ITSELF MIKO MIGHT AS WELL BE IMMORTAL (lol i donât even know what miko is)
I like Alani better though (hear me out) because she can stack heals with every successful hit of Torrent, making her healing do more.
Ambra is more a situational
Kleese and reyna are shield healers so they r good sure

Well, for the first part, Ambra and Alani are both capable of topping people off at any time (Ambra requires level 3 to get a a specific helix that allows Ambra to make a Sunspot last forever or get a crappier version of Mikoâs heal beam; Alani can actually use Wellspring even with no stacks of Osmosis⌠it just heals for 50-70) so itâs not really something unique to Miko.
For the second, Mikoâs only self healing comes from Biosynthesis and their ult. Alani is actually capable of healing herself with her empty Wellspring (once again, for an almost laughably small amount, but still), Ambra gets as much healing from her Sunspots as anyone else (and her main attack does life drain), and, with a level 4 helix, Reyna heals herself and her target(s) (for about 1/3 as much as Alaniâs full Wellspring) with every overshield provided.
Neither the ability to top allies off âat any timeâ (the only useful definition of which is âregardless of whether youâre in or out of combatâ because âwithout cooldownâ doesnât really mean much since Mikoâs healing isnât instantaneous so Alani and Reynaâs burstier healing is just as valid/useful since weâre talking about topping people off; also, Miko are a close range healer, while others mentioned are functional at mid-range, so theyâre not capable of healing âat anytimeâ because at least some of the time allies arenât going to be right next to them) nor heal yourself is actually unique to Miko.
In fact, Iâd argue that, with the exception of Kleese (and, soon, Ernest, since Kleese has no self heals and, afaik, Ernest has no heals at all), Miko are probably the worst self-healer out of all of the support characters.
Miko are a sentient fungal colony. Technically, theyâre supposed to be referred to in the plural (though a lot of people have a problem doing this because they operate as a single entity).
Yes, I get what you mean with everything. But with Alani, the lore challenge âTime Blurs in the Depthsâ, you need to heal 800 health in a single use of Wellspring, 50 times. Because of it being a challenge, it shows me that it doesnât exactly do 800 health on 1 try. So thatâs why I said âstackâ
âAt any timeâ meant that Miko can heal at anytime, which means the healing beam doesnât have a cooldown. I said Miko was good because it can heal itself with Biosynthesis, but this skill has a cooldown. But, if you choose Heal Thyself on the 2nd augment, it can âheal thyselfâ without a cooldown. I understand that he is a close range healer but donât forget about Fungus Among Us, which doesnât have him have to stay next to you, breathing down your neck as it heals you. Mike can throw its hat mushroom thing and then try to fight off using his kunai.
Ambra, not so sure but whatever, she has life drain and junk (she can actually use her Staff of Radiance to heal others similar to the way Miko and the healing beam)
(lol i donât even know what miko is)
I meant I donât know if Miko even has a gender or anything since it refers to itself in-game as âweâ
Heal thyself is only active with biosynthesis
I gotta give it to Miko because heâs the only healer that has a reliable Slow/Stun skill.

The hardest part about that challenge isnât making Wellspring strong enough that it will heal more than 800; itâs having an ally with more than 800 damage taken so that it will actually heal for the full amount since an ability canât heal someone for more damage than theyâve taken. At level 3, full Osmosis Wellspring will heal 852 if you take the right helix; if you donât take any of the +heal helices, youâll get there by level 6.
Time Blurs in the Depths is a lore challenge designed to get you to heal allies at low health, not a challenge concerned with maxing out Wellspring.
Have you even played Alani or are you just drawing conclusions based upon what you read on lore challenges?
Also, Miko donât have a gender. Theyâre a plural entity. At best, itâs like trying to ask what gender the human race is; at worst, itâs like trying to ask what gender an asexually reproducing fungus is (since, you know, thatâs what Miko actually are).
You KNOW that robot.
As far as ease of use versus effectiveness, Miko take the cake. They arenât overly difficult to learn and do their job of healing damn bloody well.
After that, things get a tad bit more complicated.
Because the rest of the support characters also fill other roles. Reyna loses potential when paired with Kelvin, cause of his negative shield recharge.
Kleese loses support potential when paired with more than one Eldrid. Rift networks canât restore shields if none are there.
But then, they both also fill roles that Miko canât as well.
Ambra pairs with everyone, but single target healing isnât very viable. Sheâs great at topping a team off, but saving individuals requires her to become aggressive and no longer rescue them via âsupportâ but rather as a pusher.
And then we had our wonderful break down of Alani who has the highest potential of healing, but also requires far more practice to actually be an effective team healer.
So, my vote is Miko is the greatest healer due to his ease of use, and being very effective.
