The problem with balancing each characters PvE and PvP performance likewise

All to well I remember this typical issue with games, having different classes or characters and them having balance in story/campaign mode and PvP.

A good example have always been any MMORPG. People complained about a class being overpowered in PvP, steamrolling everyone. Eventually it got nerfed, maybe even several times consecutively. That however also affected that class/char’s prowess in PvE, as those nerfs also affected it in that section up to the outcome, where it was not very enjoyable particularly in PvE any longer, not to mention pretty underwhelming and frustrating.

I guess that’s why Blizzard skipped the story mode for Overwatch altogether and World of Warcraft now features extra PvP skilltrees.

Thus every nerf regarding PvP issues should also be evaluated PvE-wise.

I don’t think it will be TOO much of an issue. The thralls and minions in pvp I think act as a good ruler to gauge pvp buffs and nerfs on pve. Not as much troop variety, but still a decent cornerstone.

I don’t mind if it is unbalanced for story mode because you can up the difficulty for that. In PvE though it has to be balanced otherwise you have big problems.
