It’s just numbers, until we have some confirmation from the developers we can just speculate. Half my plays was Advanced and I didn’t get a single gear for them. Now I just play sometimes for fun because I like some challenge.
All this time and nobody asked formally to them about this? I think someone need to have initiative.
80 total missions? Sorry but that’s not nearly enough for theories like this. I have more than that on the Algorithm alone and more drops from Goeff than from Henchman. Hell I’m over 100 Renegade runs and Hylis, a boss that I have killed within 30 seconds even on advanced hasn’t dropped a single legendary. No, this is just rng. The drop chance is tiny and this leaves room for huge deviations from the expected results, and this gives birth to theories like yours. I’ve seen others that think having low level players in your group boosts the chance, or farming the same mission over and over reduces it. This happens all the time in these games. In an mmo I played a long time ago there were some theories about how to upgrade items that reached into superstition. Players see deviations from their expected result and look for an explanation, and they make connections and see patterns, but there aren’t any. It’s just how stochastics work.

Omg, that much disinformation is bad for the game, when people know the right thing they get really mad about it.

There have been many numerous threads on this topic and not a single word from any developer or anyone at GBX for that matter.
I feel like that would be something they would share with there current player base ya know? Give them some sort of info to go off of to get people to play the game…
Everybody who plays any loot based game always wants the shinys
Yeah, most my other legendary gear has lower stats, so it’s totally random.
I gave up on hunting for certain ones (Hylis, The Sentinel, Plasmite) because it was seriously killing the game and any enjoyment for me. So many advanced hardcore runs wasting my time between shifts for disappointment.
Now I either stick to my pvp or run through the story from the beginning so it feels slightly less repetitive and frustrating. It’s so much worse when you are chasing a specific drop.
@dvxmasta
Yes i totally agree chasing drops usually leads to vast oceans of salt that would make the Red Sea jealous. Now i just run through public missions whatever comes up i just run it not expecting/farming for any particular drops. Keeps the PTSD and nightmares of disappointment at bay lol
Not trying to rub it in your face, I was trying to get vyns quiver (and still am) and managed to snag myself a chrono key. The reason i say this is because it is deffinitely worth the effort. Kind of. You’ve put a lot of effort into this.
The point is, keep it up, the chrono key is not a letdown (works amazingly with benedict and toby, along with other high dps characters)
It was that way in BL2 (more players and higher difficulty, higher chance to loot),I expected it to work that way,I did advanced and avd hc as soon and as much as I could and my gear page (and the pages of whom I have played with) would make you cry I guess. Be it the frequency or the rarity (maybe because of the frequency),we saw an increase.
Yeah, sometimes you do adv hc and end up with a rare at best and are outraged that a common loot pack can be here but eh,it’s random.
The problem is that people expect a drastic increase without really farming or applyng any patterns or statistic.
I’ve treated all this the same way as in other game, with probabilities and statistics. And it works for me and the people I play with.
@meuhgo
I’ve probably got just as many legendaries as your “team” while strictly farming pub normal missions. Normal missions are easier and faster = more bosses and more chances at legendaries.
For all of your teams luck there’s just as many people getting absolutely nothing from advanced missions.
Just because one of GBX’s game was like that doesn’t mean all of them are.
Not happening with a good group.
20 to 25min max per missions actually.
And about 30+leg on 150+ missions completed.
But yeah,I guess you want yo be right instead of following logic, feel free
That isn’t logic its called speculation, doesn’t matter what your groups data is, it’s not accounting for every single players data. Which is the only way any sort of real numbers can be acquired, which only GBX has.
Oh and I’ve got about 25 legendaries in about 190 missions. All from normal.
Logic is to think that this system is a norm in gaming,it was a norm in their previous game,so it’s very probably the same here.
Logic is to see that it would be pointless to have different difficulty if it wouldn’t affect the loot. (the challenge, yes. We know that players do not strive on that only).
So yeah,it is logic to think that higher difficulty=higher chance at better loot.
Just the fact that higher difficulty=more ennemies=more loot is pure logic also.
I can see that I got about 15 more leg in barely 20 30 missions more than you,so yeah, also that.
Lol…
Just…lol
Obviously I’m not going to have the exact same number of legendaries per number of missions as you or anyone else for that matter. That’s just absurd to think that. The need to feel right is strong with this one…
The amount of threads with people complaining about running Advanced/Hardcore countless times and getting nothing but commons and uncommon, maybe a rare here or there, speaks otherwise.
The amount of enemies has nothing to do with chances for legendaries… That’s common sense since legendaries only drop from BOSSES. Not trash mobs.
So uhh yea also nuff said
Because people who get legendaries regularly in these difficulties are gonna voice their concerns on the forum?
I don’t see the comparison here but well, you want to be right,I don’t mind,I see how it works,I deal with it.
I get legendaries regularly in normal. Sometimes multiples from the same mission, so how about you do what you do, and I’ll continue to do what I do.

Guys, no need to heat up the discussion and get the topic closed ):

You’re right, sorry OP not my intention
I’m just passionate about the game
I’ve completed around 200 missions, with 3 full rows of legendaries. I’ve played the majority of games on either advanced for advanced HC. Noticed that Normal Pubs with a 5 man team is the best way to go to farm legendaries. Also i think its better to switch up the maps because if you grind one map too long, you just get burnt out/frustrated.
I so much hate tying gear to specific bosses. This makes the game feel like work as opposed to having fun killing stuff. Gosh, couldn’t they make it like Diablo where any gear can drop from any source?
