The real problem of the game, at least for me (but I'm sure I'm not the only one)

The game is super fun, the pvp (the few times the teams aren’t unbalanced) is challenging, frenetic as a fps and tactical and team-driven as a moba and the pve is fresh air between pvp matches… but, and it’s a big but:

The matchmaking system is completely wrong… why splitting the already thin pvp community in 3? why not just 1 “join game” button and then let the participants choose wich type of match to play (as it happens already with the map selection)? Or just choose at random?
Another pvp mm related problem is that premades are playing vs randoms and it’s no fun
people should be grouped like this
1-3 players in group vs 1-3 players in group
4-5 players in group vs 4-5 players in group
(but I guess I can wait for this last part, maybe there are not enough players atm to ask for this change yet.

And on the other side, in pve, there is only 1 “join” button, if you need a particular map you either need to pray for it to show in the map selection screen, solo it or add random people on steam as friends… really? even borderlands had better matchmaking for co-op

I REALLY hope this game succedes, it’s fun and all, but many have fallen before and many will fall.
I hope gearbox will see what I (and many more) can see already… fix the matchmaking

xD The matchmaking is a little wonky.

One of my teams consisted of an Atticus, ISIC, Montana (Me), Miko, and an Oscar Mike, while the other team was made up Rath, Miko, Montana, Pheobe, and Caldarius.

As a team, we got 27 kills, and died 7 times, and we were all at least 4 levels higher than the other team.

And that’s not even the first time that’s happened. xD

3 Tanks, 1 Support, 1 Pusher is a winning team setup on Capture maps, apparently.

We need that skill based matchmaking. One based on your personal performance, over the course of 10 matches or something.

I see your point of view…but thatd just be another reason for people to quit out and ruin the game for the remainders. Theres WAY more than enough of that already.

phiyaboi, I could understand that on the pvp side (well, I actually wouldn’t, a single queue would mean faster queue times, a thicker pvp community, more skill involved considering you need to learn 3 types of gameplay, an actual possibility of BB to become an e-sport and just more fun overall for everyone)
but pve? how would a single queue for each chapter, maybe with the possibility of choosing the difficulty, affect anyone in a bad way? Atm it’s the main reason why I’m not playing BB, the pve mm is all over the place and the pvp one is not much better.

For a while on the Beta PvP had one join and you voted on mode, but then there was a huge outcry about how people couldn’t play the mode they wanted. I know I couldn’t get a meltdown vote to succeed to save my life.

For now, I think it works fine as is.

Yes, a single cue would make everything sunshine and roses. Until of course you have random players and whole teams bail out because they don’t want to play Capture. Then teams would go in lopsided or put back into the cue and we’d be right back to square one.

Oh it would make matchmaking faster, there’s no doubt about that, but that doesn’t mean it would be any more fun.

PvE isnt really a problem for me personally seeing as if im aiming for a map in particular and something I dont want…i just quit. I go reque and it doesnt harm the others experience since difficulty scales with # of players.

I suppose specific map ques could be something to impliment later.

Overwatch has a single queue for different match types and look how bad it’s doing :\ those who complain for a single cue and leave… well, too bad for them, the game will be doing far better without them

no difficulty selection either in the mm (hard/hardcore or whatever it’s called), plus it’s a waste of time to “join, leave, join, leave, join” hoping what you need pops up

Not trying to argue your point or anything, but I just wanted to point out that you listed 6 enemies in a 5v5 format. Might make things a bit confusing.

On the topic of matchmaking, here’s how I think it works.

If you solo queue, then you get clumped into a team of other random, then put against another group. The reason you get paired with teams of 5 so often is because the matchmaker wants to make matches as soon as possible, and easier to throw you at a team of 5 than it is to throw you at a team of clumped random.

Can I get confirmation on this by anyone?

Personally I wouldn’t want a single cue. For me the only mode I enjoy is incursion. The reason the game is fun to me is the MOBA aspects and the other modes don’t use those very much.

The biggest problem is they have to find a way to stop throwing Pugs into matches with Pre-mades. This will kill the game in a matter of weeks if it keeps up. Pre-mades should only be matched against other Pre-mades.
