I just ran it again with orendi and my friends who were Oscar mike and whiskey foxtrot. Orendi’s shadowfire pillar can take out a lot of the larger enemies Oscar mike has fire grenade aoe and whiskey foxtrot also helps with taking out the brutes
Just did it solo with Oscar Mike. The towers never went lower than 80%. Eazy peazy lemon squeezy.
Public random team, got Gold again.
As I’ve said it is my belief now that we just needed to get better at it.
I soloed it on normal with Galilea pretty easily. It’s a lot harder in a pug it seems, but I beat it every single time when I do it with Shayne. I just spend 90%+ of my time chucking boomerangs at things.
Solo’d it with Orendi today on normal. Got it on first try and even got a silver medal.
I’d say use alot of Inferno traps, a temporal trap next to the item you have to defend and build Thumper turrets on the 2 locations you are allowed to. Don’t stray away the object you defend, and make sure you can rebuild the traps in between rounds since they go down fast.
Did the hotfix go in already? I heard they were doubling the health of Nova in that last round.
Yes, seems like it’s fixed. Completed it for the first time today with only 3 randoms and I had to build everything too. It was still easier than when I was with 4 others that knew what they were doing.
Just pick your characters to match the stage better.
I solo’d it as Whiskey Foxtrot. It isn’t all that hard on normal. (Granted soloing is way easier than multi with randos.)
My wife and I beat it first try earning a gold while on split screen with no problem two days ago. Maybe they fixed it before we played it, we didn’t have any frame rate issues or anything. She’s not a gamer, but held her own. She played as Thorn and I played as Orendi. On the final core we just hugged it essentially and made sure all turrets and traps were up, thumpers, flames and temporals. It maybe lost 1/5 of its health.
People have always been having more success with low party numbers. 1-2 player parties win a lot more easily than a 5-man party. That is not unusual.
And these characters are?..
The problem with this mission is that you don’t clearly understand what does it require from you to win. And the mission becomes easy once you figure out how things are going there. And only then you’d know which characters “match the stage better”, furthermore you’d know the stage is beatable with nearly any heroes if you’re solo or with one teammate. So your advice is kinda useless.
How does scaling work in this game? I like the ideas of scaling numbers and enemies and health of bosses, but buffing damage is not a good idea in any case, because more people doesn’t give people more health, just more people to shoot things at with.
I do not think the game actually makes enemies deal more damage with the number of players. You just get more and tougher spawns.
As for which characters to bring…I have no idea. Probably a ranged one who can stay in the middle balcony (where the jump-pad is) because enemies tend to drop there and snipe the core.
Out of around 6-7 attempts, I’ve only completed this once. Its always the final defence point that seems to get the party as too many of the little enemies swarm in when too many players go off to deal with the bigger threats.
Damn! command rank 46, any idea how long it took you to reach this level?
Also, have you played an even mix of PVP and PVE? I’ve probably played 20 hours PVE and I am nowhere near that rank. Not a lot of hours I know, but I was distracted by a snowstorm that blew in for a few days. Levelling up does feel like a bit of a grind now.
Saboteur is easier now after the buff to defensive shields isn’t it?
Only Solo and Team PvE, have not played against others.
That was 107 hours.
Sab may be a little easier, just got Gold again on a 3 person team.
Ghalt, Miko and Rath.
It’s good to see that you have put that many hours in.
I’ve got to say I must have been lucky with saboteur, I got a gold medal for it at some point, not even sure when. I don’t really understand how the medal scoring works, as in what a gold even means? So I tend to ignore it. I’ve completed levels solo in a good time, no deaths, plenty of shards, built loads of stuff and then score pops up and it’s a bronze, i’m feeling like I just totally bossed the level and the game is like “meh, mediocre effort dude”. This usually ends with me telling the game where it can take its opinions, so I tend to ignore the score board.
Only a little bit. It’s still a tactics-dependent mission (and the game doesn’t suggest you what the tactics are): if you do it right you’d do it even before fix, if you don’t do it right you probably wouldn’t even after it.
Deande got Gold too:
