The Sportsball Thread

If I recall his favorite player was always Darren Mccarty just because the bastard would go from “YAAY GO TEAM” to “Murder Mode Activated” at the drop of a hat.

Massive respect for you and @IrishRebelA07 for being Titans fans after this brutal year.

College - Baylor (All Sports)

NFL - Texans

NBA - Rockets

MLB - ■■■■ BASEBALL IT SUCKS

NHL - Anaheim Ducks

MLS - Dynamo

Dota 2 - Team Liquid… RIP ;_;

Honestly though I really only follow college sports super closely. Pro sports I’m more casual about.

College Basketball > College Football > NBA > NFL > MLS > NHL > Underwater Basket Weaving > Competitive Cheer > MLB (FUCK BASEBALL)

Baseball really is the worst. I feel like the sport will be dead in short order over the next few years. It just hasn’t adapted with the times well at all.

I don’t follow specific sports…but I watch soccer and rugby.

Philly 4 for 4

It’s just so boring unless you’re a huge fan of the sport. So much downtime where nothing is happening.

The worst is that dead period after the end of the NBA/NCAA Basketball season where all there is is baseball.

No way, brah! Sure, baseball isn’t as popular in the US as football is, but it’s in no way dying. Attendance has been pretty consistent in the last 10 years and in fact, total attendance for the MLB last year was higher than the total attendance from the NFL, NBA, and NHL combined. Baseball is doing a-okay. <3

Ditto! The Blue Jackets have only been good the last couple seasons (they’re frustratingly mediocre this year) but the experience at Nationwide Arena is by far my favorite out of any sporting event I’ve ever been to (except for maybe OSU football games but that’s because marching band).

We’d love to drive down to Nashville to catch a game sometime. It’s on my bucket list.

I need to go to a Stars game at some point. I’ve been to an Aeros game (Houston minor league team) but it’s not really the same.

Cricket. Hard to watch in the states, but my fave. Followed by NFL football, then all others distant followups.

That doesn’t have anything to do with the 162 games/season versus their competitors does it? But I agree, it’s not going anywhere.

Go Avs!

NBA has 82 games/season, NHL has 82, and NFL has 16, so that’s 180 total games/season for those three sports combined versus the MLB’s 162. Still shows that America likes baseball.

Avs, huh? Iginla’s playing for you guys now, right? How’s he doing?

NHL/NBA operate in much smaller arenas versus baseball too

Iginla is doing really good actually, second on the team in points and of course the leadership and toughness that he brings for a young team.

Iginla’s still playing? Geez I don’t follow NHL that closely but hasn’t he been around for like 15 years now?

Edit: I was wrong it’s 20 years.

He’s 37 years young and still very good.

Baseball ticket prices are also lower and stadiums bigger, like nascar.

It’s still a valid point! XD hehehehe

That’s awesome. He was one of the guys I was hoping the Jackets would take a look at when he was available. I always liked him in Calgary.

@Dacheat 20 years. Wow. I hadn’t realized it was quite that long. That’s an epic career.
