The state of sniper rifles in Bl3

The issue is, they don’t really work without overkill.

so i know it’s not a legendary or even a purple, but recently i’ve started using the Kenulox, and it is a nice gun, great for taking down shields, taking down guardians, unshielded enemies it still does really decent damage, and it’s always full auto.

also the Null Pointer is a heavy hitter, I think it’s the leaning too heavy on legendaries to find a good sniper that keeps us from picking up the blues that are actually pretty good.

not a big fan of it, but Monocle’s crit dmg, is a really good heavy hitter too, just requires you to aim the gun for every shot, unfortunately you need to be in proximity to a lot of enemy spawn points before they actually spawn.

When using sniper rifles, the game should slow down the enemy movement to simulate the scenario where you can take your time to aim and be at a really good distance.

Right now when sniping, you are at a disadvantage distance-wise and aiming-time.

I think there are other factors which make snipers less useful, too. Like how singularity grenades are less powerful in B3, meaning you can’t trap enemies with them, easily. Or how enemies don’t spawn until you’re close, and you can’t beat this, like by sending Fl4k’s pet ahead to flush them out. And the levels, even the big open ones, don’t feel right for sniping a lot of the time.
If gearbox weren’t going to put the love into snipers, I sort of wish they’d left them out and included a few ARs or slug-shotguns (like one pump chump) which could have filled the gap, like how they removed lasers (from TPS) and left a few laser-style weapons in other categories.
