Thats a good long comment FFA. I dont think TPS really deserves to be in the same class as BL2 but I still played for 300 hrs so…worth it anyway. But it should have been a better game. The Claptrap DLC showed us that good BL content is still doable.
I could be wrong but I imagine the relationship between GBX and 2K to be like a writer and publisher. From what I have heard, Publishers are always pushing writers for sequels or something very similar when the writers who are successful want to show they can do other things. It does sound alot like what happened with TPS in that GBX probably didn’t want to make BL game but 2k wanted to so they worked out an arrangement for 2kAustralia. Now 2k Australia is closed, who will support the game? I dont think GBX really wants to but I think there is alot there can do to salvage the game, because it is pretty much dead right now.
Join the universes between TPS and BL2. This basically creates huge content for each of these games. You could now level up Nisha by playing BL2 missions. And you would instantly have 2 large DLC contents for BL2 vault hunters. They are basically the same…They ARE the same engine so it should be doable. Can you imagine melee zer0 with an oz kit?
I actually kind of gave up on the game until GBX had the loot hunt events. That was great and most of the targets were bosses I had never met. It got me into the game and I have been with it for good.
Have some kind of raid boss randomly appear in the last walled off section of the holodome and change it up every once in a while.
I find it funny that people still think that BLTPS was the next big release, while it was clear from the beginning that it was made for the fans who want to have more BL to go back to.
After BL2, they should have said, “Wow! You guys really loved this game! So much so that we want Borderlands 3 to be even BETTER, even if takes a bit longer!”
If they made us wait (almost as long) as the time vetween BL1 and BL2 for the release of TPS, why couldn’t they make it essentially as good?
ESPECIALLY if they make us wait 2,3, 4 years between TPS and BL3, which i am pretty sure will be the case.
If you’re making a filler / holdover game (even if it’s a GREAT one), don’t make us wait THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME as we would for a main title!
ALTHOUGH, with all the BL2 DLC, and if they really did put TPS together in less than a year, it’s impressive nonetheless.
If TPS was made by only Gearbox themselves, which it isn’t, I would’ve agreed for the most part. They are concentrating on Battleborn and BL3 now.
Development time has nothing to do with if it’s is a big release or not.
TPS was made (atleast partially) because people wanted to explore the large ‘H’ in the sky, and other wishes fans had.
It is starting to feel like maybe Gbx would have preferred to wait to put out full length, amazing BL3 but succumbed to pressure from fans to explore Helios / have more Jack?
Well, fans, you got what you wanted, quit your whining!
For the dutch, it has always been marketed at 60. And I’m fine with it considering the amount of hours I’ve put into this game. It even has more playable characters I like compared to 2.
Offcourse, I cannot speak for everyone, but I still do enjoy TPS alot.
People will always try to find something to complain about. And others will follow them like blind sheep, instead of checking the facts or the like.
They did say TPS was not going to be as grand as BL2. They delivered what they said they would with the season pass. Most of us, myself included, were wondering why the season pass didn’t seem to encompass a lot. Because there wasn’t going to be a lot (see first sentence).
Maybe it’s cause I’ve switched back to BL2 now but what broken matchmaking? It worked fine last time I checked.
Let’s check the Mutator arena:
Shadowtrap spawns randomly on the last wave of mutator arena…
Guess what happens;
People now quit the game when he respawns in Mutator arena, because they find it difficult.
