The Trickster masks are just Shadowtrap, aren’t they? I always thought Shadowtrap looks like Hannibal Lector.

Somehow, no one had before you! Thanks!

@Jostabeere

Good eye, sweet!

Aren’t those Bug/Swarmer/Identity scammer enemies just small X-Wings?

Didn’t see anyone mention this, but the mission “The Empty Billabong” (the one you get from Peepot) is completely a reference to the Australian folk song “Waltzing Matilda”.

"Once a jolly swagman camped by a billabong
Under the shade of a coolibah tree
And he sang as he watched and waited til his billy boiled,
‘You’ll come a-waltzing Matilda with me.’

Down came a jumbuck to drink at that billabong
Up jumped the swagman and grabbed him with glee
And he sang as shoved the jumbuck in his tucker bag,
‘You’ll come a-waltzing Matilda with me.’"

The name of the Grinder in Concordia, Bessie, has got to be a reference to the amazing Pearlescent sniper rifle in BL1.

Forgot this one:

Treasures of the ECHO Madre (Outlands Canyon side mission) is, of course, a reference to John Huston’s classic 1948 western film, starriing Humphrey Bogart, Treasures of the Sierra Madre.

Yeah, they’re all very good imo.

Dead Money offers a different gameplay style though, so beware of that. It’s more of like survival horror, but without the horror part. Well, unless you think respawning enemies is horror. I won’t spoil more about the last bit, but it’s interesting. Just remember, dismember the limbs of anything you kill.

But what made me really like DM is the story. It’s just so perfect.

This one’s pretty obscure, but I figure that Pickle’s sister Eliza is a reference to Eliza Doolittle, from George Bernard Shaw’s play Pygmalion and the later musical adaptation of that play, My Fair Lady.

In the play, Eliza Doolittle (who speaks with a Cockney accent very similiar to Pickle’s) receives elocution lessons from a high society instructor so she can speak like a proper lady, after which her accent becomes very posh and cultured (much like Eliza’s in the quest).

Cool how Pickles and Eliza represent the before and after of her accent.

EDIT: This confirms it! In the quest, when you pick up Eliza’s first ECHO, Pickles says “Blimey! That’s Eliza! But she sounds all weird and posh!”

Like she originally shared her brother’s uncouth Cockney accent and took speech lessons to impress her customers while selling her scavenged / stolen goods.

The Volt Thrower shock rocket launcher quest reward for No Such Thing As A Free Launch may be a reference to the death metal band Bolt Thrower.

I would hope most people would already know this but much of Nisha’s skill trees are references to various Westerns. Tombstone, Magnificent Six, etc. Not much of a Western fan myself but even I picked that up.

The airship flying around Hyperion Hub of Heroism is possibly inspired by the one in Blade Runner.
