They just wanna party like the rest of us

There’s a comic book on my shelf called “There goes the neighbourhood”, which is the history of Canada seen through indigenous eyes. Pretty depressing, really.

Why is all this happening in the “What made you happy thread” anyway?

Oh yes, Canada = POUTINE AND MAPLE SYRUP.

That’s happier.

It´s not so bad. Though I met people online who thought we have no fridges or cars and that dragons live here…

I missed most of it :frowning: Stuck on a train marking exams and begging for death

Did you ever get around to a booze excursion?

Death, you say?

OMG the perfect clip! I feel bad for saying I don’t like marking because I feel honoured to mark students’ efforts on an individual basis, it’s just when you have a massive stack of papers and 3 days to get through them all the panic and the drudgery sets in… and the increasingly desperate attempt to find synonyms for the word ‘perceptive’…

Settling into my second bottle of wine, wishing I bought more sugar :stuck_out_tongue:

After about a year of internet issues with my gaming PC, I finally solved it today. The solution? Ditch the wifi adapter and BUY A FREAKING 50 FOOT ETHERNET CABLE!

I swear wired stuff is always better than wireless…

It really is so much more stable, and often faster too! Congrats

When someone says they’re having issues with on-line play, my first question is usually “wired or wifi connection to your router?”

Originally I didn’t want to because a normal length wire would mean drilling a hole between walls, and that’s a pain in the ass. Eventually dad said “just buy a 50 foot cable.”

I had to gut and rebuild the room in the basement when we moved in, so it’s got a full Cat-5e network to a patch panel where the router sits. Got the 360 (and now the XB1 also) fully hard-wired. It’s nice.

you can get cables through plugs (I would describe that much better but I am tipsy)… powerline adapters? they use your wiring as an ethernet cable. it’s not as good as a straight to ethernet cable but mine does up to a gigabyte, and it’s still better than wifi for me.

the 50ft cable works too of course!

I am using power-line adapters too. It works like a charm.
