Raining again, good, hard, driving rain. It’s both a relief from other weather, and beautiful.

I only predate Daerk by a few months. I joined in Jun '10 I think. I’d have to go check my profile to be entirely sure, but it was a bit after the launch of Knoxx.

Mike did just pop back up in the Politics thread recently though. He dates back to the mid 00s if I recall right.

Just means that after the singularity you can brag about having been around for it.

If someone wants to check for me, that’d be great. Though I believe it was 2012, when BL2 came out, which I played first. because 2009 I was 18 and barely not living at home.

I’m older than you Poisoned? Not like it matters but I thought you were born in the 80s.

I’m mildly curious about the average age of our active users now. I vaguely recall back on the old forums (way back), we had an average age of 27, but its been years since then. Wouldn’t be surprised if the average user was older now, since I can only name one user I’d even guess was a teenager.

34 and a third here.

I’d say the average user age is like 25-35.

I remember a certain group of users that were born mid to late eighties albeit most of them are gone now… but eh. Really miss most of them nowadays.

Borderlands and Battleborn seem to attract s more mature / perhaps slightly older group of fans, but admittedly i don’t know about many other game fan groups on the internet, as these boards and the the demons / dark souls / blood borne forums having been the only two I’ve become deeply involved in.

It’s not unusual, at least for MMO forums which is where I generally see such polls. Seems like the group that plays such games tend to age with them. I’m less sure about non MMO games.

Would you define Borderlands / Battleborn as MMO?

No, because they’re not. To clarify here, I just don’t generally see such polls in other areas, rather than implying that.

Sorry, may have misinterpreted the way you worded your post.

Im all buzzed on cold medication!

No worries, realized I may have implied it after checking.

I should probably swing by the Ubisoft forums one day, seeing as how every 2nd game I play last few years seems to be an Ubisoft production!

My condolences in advance. I’ve been active there before, they tend to mainly focus on bug reports and/or waiting for bug fixes. That or complaints. To be fair I suppose, they’re still better than Bungie’s forums.

Oh, that sucks!

My system seems to be, if it’s a game I don’t play online with others, ie, i play it mainly or entirely for the solo story, I tend to never use the forums.

It’s weird.

Aside from BL/BB and The SoulsBorne games, most of my gaming has been strictly a solo affair, aside from couch coop or Counterstrike / Team Forteess during my childhood and teenage years.

Battleborn was actually the first game I ever used a mic for. I really regretting not being on mic for the thousands of hours of Borderlands multiplayer I did.

So much typing!

I hear you, I rarely visit single player forums myself. It does happen, but not nearly as often as ones for online games. As for voice chat… Hearing impaired, I don’t voice chat. Back in DDO my group got me to try, it was nothing except a frustration for all of us.

I’m not hearing impaired, per se, but after a couple decades of loud kitchen jobs, loud parties, and loud concerts, my hearing is nowhere near what it used to be!

There is a thread:

Unfortunately, some of the folks posted links to the old forums instead of screen grabs, and those links are now all dark. It may be possible to find some of them through the internet archive though.
