Have you seen these guardians protecting anything?
And why are Seraph relics manufactured by the Eridians?
Congratulation, you have proven that Gearbox didn’t made up the term “seraphs”, modern culture borrows names from mythology all the time.

They are guarding their secrets.
Game play reasons.
It means that seraphs are a real thing, Gearbox has been using a lot of mythology, i wouldn’t be surprised.
And why does the Seraph Vendor prompts me to kill Seraph Guardians?
maaaaybe you can play with all existing/alive vaulthunters + 4 or more new ones?
as for what you may be fighting against… ?_?
unhelpful response is unhelpful
I defeated some of them, but none of their secrets seems to be revealed.
Seraph relics are manufactured by the Eridians, if Seraphs were a separate faction, Gearbox would have given them a manufacture logo.
Seraphs only exist for game play reasons and nothing else.
If i were to murder somebody i wouldn’t be able to learn what they knew.
If they were for gameplay reasons why have we nor seen them?
Because there are no “Seraphs”. only items, reskinned vendors and raid boss with the word “seraph” in their names.
There is nothing that isn’t a pure game play mechanic. Gearbox didn’t even bother enough to give them a manufacture logo.
If what they guard informations in their head, why don’t they just run away when they see you?
Why dont they run away? Because if we humans were to create a device to put knowledge in a humans brain, they would go insane. Their brains become more active, but as it become more active, they were experience sudden fits of uncontrolable rage
Vladolf was just a gun company, torgue, Jakobs, but they have a story behind them.
You know what i really loved / miss?
The manufacturers chatter that you would hear when you were standing in the Fast Travel chamber in Sanctuary.
Maliwan and Vladof had the coolest.
So, it’s not possible for one ‘faction’ to use another ‘faction’s’ tech? Guess I’ll be researching the meaning of “E-tech” again tonight…
What COULD that big ol’ letter E stand for, then?!?!?! I had assumed “Eridian”, but maybe it’s “Earthling” or something similarly mundane.
Oh, you’re right, I’m just being difficult.
I’m with GulfWulf on this. The ‘dangerous alien creatures’ that granted Hyperius his powers? I HIGHLY FREAKING DOUBT that there were Stalkers or Crystalisks. We’ve no reason to think that the Eridians ever “awoke from their slumber”, though I admit it’s not impossible.
Seriously, how is this seemingly impossible? When has it ever been stated that there is no Seraph alien culture/species?
You know what, F*** it. Seraphs are a splinter faction of the Eridians. So, that explains why there are Seraph relics. Oh yeah, and Seraphs work for Maliwan, too, so that the Florentine could be manufactured. Oh, and for Dahl too. And Torgue. Why not, right?
I wonder if Mister Torgue is a RAID BOSS?!?!?!
(Okay, I’ll stop. But really. Either there’s some significant bit of canon specifically ruling out the Seraphs as either an alien race or an Eridian sub-faction, or it’s possible. Cite the canon, if you please. Failing that, the possibility of an Eridian-Seraph war stands.)
Ahem…
Eridians sacrificed their civilization when they imprisoned The Destroyer.
So you think seraph artifacts are manufactured by the Eridians, because “Seraphs” used their e-tech. There is only one problem: There are plenty of E-tech weapons that are not manufactured by the Eridians, none of the E-tech weapons in BL2 is manufactured by the Eridians.
And why doesn’t Gearbox bother to make them a faction logo?
We we already do know a alien faction capable of corrupting people: “Eridians”
Then why is there so less proof that they are a faction? Was the term “Seraph” ever used as a independent noun and not just as a “prefix”? Look how Gearbox introduces new characters(with cut scenes), do you really think the same people would try to slip in a new faction?
I think “Seraph” aren’t even a sub faction, just a means of giving us raid bosses and shinny toys.
We used to think companies were just companies too, but that was false. Maybe more Seraphs will be told about in BL3
No, Companies or manufactures were involved in the story right form the beginning of the series. And in BL2 Hyperion is your main enemy.
Not Maliwan or Vladolf, S&S. We had to wait until later to learn about Torgue, Jackobs, Hyperion, and Dahl, but the first stated companies have yet to have any story, we learned only a small part if Vladolf. Nothing on Maliwan or S&S.
But do you know what all manufactures had right from the start? a logo!
We know that Maliwan are hippies from Jack.
Anyway, this whole Seraph thing got me interested…
Is the Leviathan a Seraph? The treasure at the end of the Pirate Booty DLC looked like an Eridian place. I always thought that the Leviathan was an Eridian and the treasure was an Eridian armory thingy.
I actually thought that Seraph was crystals, not an actual creature called Seraph. And that Guardians are guardians of these crystals from those who wish to exploit them. (See Jack & Eridium)
But hmm… It doesn’t make sense that Seraphs and Eridians are enemies though. Pandora, IMO is a huge Eridian Armory to store their stuff. (I thought it was the main planet of the Eridians but the wildlife doesn’t seem too safe.) Why would they store the Warrior, the Destroyer, and another Vault full of loot on a planet where their enemies live.
I really hope we know more about Seraphs.
Maybe the Seraphs are a renegade / break off faction of the Eridians; like the Brotherhood Outcasts in the Fallout series?
Has anybody found out what it was that Jack found in the Vault at the end? The strange symbol (vault symbol)?
It was an alien cell phone.
Obviously when Lillith punched it, the battery blew-up and scarred Jack’s face.
It was one of those knowledge transfer devices like at the end of the last Indian Jones movie.
