Depends - for some of us, it definitely runs wonderfully, but “PC” includes a lot of variety in hardware and software configurations (some of which will run the game well, some poorly). The game is quite capable of running smoothly though.
If we’re considering this on a metric, especially one based upon console ports- the previous one (THC) is less stable than expected, though at a high frame rate. BL3 is much, much less stable in this case as a PS4 port. It runs at choppy framerates more often then not, and at about half speed. The framerates affect much less of the in-game math, however. So combat is much less affected.
I wouldn’t buy a full-scale live-service BL4. At least not at full price. Reduced, for 20 bucks or so, maybe.
That said, Imo BL4 will learn from BL3’s shortcomings, and even if it can’t reach BL2’s glory it’ll probably be better than BL3.
I’m still adamant about that BL3 will be remembered as the worst entry in the series.
I don’t consider BL3 a bad game, it’s a fairly good game that I am playing since launch and will still play for a long time.
However, it’s most likely that I won’t sign up for BL4.
Why? After countless hours on every single Borderlands games released, my expectations for game innovation and quality both in terms of writing and development is high and GearBox has proved its inability to provide both with bl3:
-Writing: very subpar compared to BL2 both in term of main story and humor
-Game innovation: they are here but not enough to warrant a BL4
Besides they completely lack of vision and ambition which they try to hide
with “we are listening feedback”
-Development quality: this is the worst point, insufficient testing and lack of quality, absolutely preposterous declarations when confronted. This level of quality is not admissible for AAA production, I spent too much time filing bugs reports on things that should have been detected in testing phases (if they existed)
Back in may 2019, someone called “DuvalMagic” on Twitter said this:
So I expect:
- “consistency with how things were done in BL2”, as in Game and DLC release in fully playable state. This is not exactly the case, as even with the last DLC, we had 1 bugged mission that was impossible to complete without hotfix (not even talking about other issues).
- “More content” (than in BL2), as advertised… And sorry, but clearing 100% campaign, sidequests and challenges (main challenges, I did not seek for each tiny secret in BL2) feels shorter in BL3 than in my BL2 memories. And I still did not find any “invincible” farmable boss in base game (something like Terramorphous).
I wouldn’t buy a BL4 until the promises are kept with BL3, and I’ll probably let a good 6 months security delay after launch to see how they do with updates.
They wont release bl4 next year imo who told you that. Since games nowadays have at least a four year cycle the next game won’t release for at least another 6 years. If you dont like the game in its “current state” go play a different game, they’re obviously working tirelessly to improve the game so how about give them a damn break or and get over it/yourself. Tired of all these people on here moaning about something I highly doubt they know very little about.
This is already being discussed, more politely.
