Body mass is a thing.
As Thorn I’ve had Montana on my own team knock me into the void.
And I’ve had Toby block our entire team from entering a doorway.
Good thing Thorn can shoot arrows thru players.
Those are some extremely unlikely cases you brought up, considering these are standard functions in other games of this type
If it was a competitive match I might agree. But in the end the only way you are going to know what the other team is using is if you are in a conversation with someone on one team or the other prior to choosing.
So, allow no in game conversation with new player until they have locked in.
@clarkeyboy
That’s a really good list. I cannot attest to the PS portion since I am a PC gamer, but the other notes are spot on.

I’ve played a few other MOBAs and you can’t join games already in progress… so I’m not sure what you’re talking about.
Well, now you’re getting into a gray area. This fix of not allowing people in chats together to join only works if the chat program is linked directly to the game so it can see it. On console, sure, you are most likely using a shared chat through the system. On PC though the program can be totally separate from what you’re playing. Really, console players could just group up on a voice chat system through PC too and do the same thing there.
I really only brought this but because if there is a way to exploit something, people will.
Talking more about shooters (like TF2). It’s a combination MOBA/Shooter so it covers both genres.
In TF2 you can change your character on death so its something everyone can do normally (I used to do it often to snipe a heavy or spy up to a sniper). Not the case in Battleborn. Just because something works in a similar game (another Hero Shooter) doesn’t mean its practical for all games of the vague genre. The MOBA part is what sets Battleborn apart from TF2 and the like there.

I agree 100%. I watched last night as at least 50 of my grenade shots with OM went off on the back of Montana’s head, as he stepped in front of me every time I was about to fire…really stupid mechanic to have blocking enabled for your own team.

Here is my thoughts on what needs improving so far:
COMBINE GAME-MODES / MAPS
Fractures playerbase unnecessary and gives maybe wrong impression about actual people playing
Heliophage should be in the general story mode queue and not separate.
Instead at least have another queque for advanced story mode.
All PVP modes should be one queue maybe two (so solo pugs can have their own turf). Three game modes with two maps each basically means there is only three maps being played. Therefore map voting should be disabled. Cherry picking gets boring eventually but not everyone stays around that long. Give and take, you play my map I play yours.
Generally I don’t understand how there is no halfway decent server browser in this game. I also feel like content wise we are on the light side here so Gearbox better throw in some free maps later on. Compared to Borderlands this seems weaksauce. (but maybe I am mistaken)
And I disagree completely. If they allow characters to shoot through teammates it will ruin this game by allowing snipers and other high dps to stand behind tanks.
Sure it can be frustrating to hit a teammate, but when that happens, I know it was my fault and I should have had better positioning and been more aware of my surroundings.
The things that need addressing, IMO are:
Fixing geometry/fps issues on maps (I’m convinced the game engine is rendering things we can’t see on these maps)
Fixing incursion to eliminate sniping sentries and making the mode more balanced & allowing comebacks a bit more easily.
Tweaking story episodes to scale more appropriately for different numbers of players.

She can? Is that one of her special abilities or something? I’ve never been able to shoot through people, which is why body blocking is such a big deal, imo.
That’s a really good point I hadn’t thought of before. Some other games (like Overwatch) allow you to shoot through your own teammates, but the scale of their large characters is not quite as extreme as we have here in Battleborn.
Absolutely this! I know I’ll get better as I get to know the map more, but there is nothing more frustrating than trying to run away and being blocked by a tiny rock or blade of grass!

Problem is, it’s not my fault when I’m in the clear, lining up a nade shot and some noob playing Montana comes running in and plugs the shot lane for the entire team. End result is always the same…everyone pumps their specials into Montana’s back, he get’s crushed by the frontal onslaught and then the rest of the team gets crushed by the zerg that has curbstomped Montana and was shielded from any damage because he chose to plug the lane. It’s a poor mechanic that means a single bad player will kill his team every time playing one of these oversized roadblocks. I would understand it if I was dumb enough to run up behind Montana and shoot…but when the scrub playing him is stepping in front of everyone else without regard for tactics or geometry, it’s ragequit worthy. I avoid matches with a Montana on my team now, and relish matches where the opponent is using him.
The solution there isn’t to remove blocking, though. It’s for Montana and or their teammates to play more effectively as a team. Allowing high dps ranged characters to shoot through tanks will be awful. You can’t expect great teamwork in a pug, though, so consider joining a discord or something and find better people to play with, rather than taking a shortcut (allowing people to shoot through)

Yeah, I do agree that shooting through teammates would be cheesy, and not the way to go. But they do need to allow the players from the same team to be able to pass through one another.
Maybe. I’m less decisive on that point. A large potential problem there, and probably the reason it isn’t allowed, is that smaller characters could stand inside the hotbox of the larger ones. Lol, I tried a bot match yesterday because I wanted to give Boldur a shot and I remember getting stuck on a stairway with Ambra-bot and I trying to go in opposite directions.
Also, if people think hitting friendlies is a problem now, consider what will happen if teammates can move through you.
I think it is important to keep in mind that the game is still new. People are going to get better at it. Yes, many played in CTT or open beta, but many probably didn’t.

Then they need to remove Montana as a tier 1 unlock and put him somewhere upwards to rank 30 to unlock, because right now he is 1-man team killer for pugs.

character physics are fine as they are. sure it might not be easy so you have to adapt. but you cannot expect a one-way meatshield. that be dumb. people need to factor this in and some already do. I am always trying to get behind the enemy and out of my allies line of fire when playing a meatshield. unless I would want to shield them from enemy fire.

And this is why he shouldn’t be noob accessible. Montana really needs to be a team based decision, because he is so large and has the unique ability to shut down an entire lane for about 5 seconds, you really cannot put that kind of decision in the hands of a noobie player without a mic and headset. It’s a recipe for disaster and I’ve seen it first hand wipe an entire squad which had otherwise mounted a really strong lane gap defense with Montana out of the way.
