I just had a LLM loader surprise the cr4p out of me out of a chest in AN. Knocked me into FFYL and flew away
so far nothing could hit him. Only until i was just about dead did I see the red dot start heading back my way. Thanks a lot.

I’m still amazed that they still support BL2 even after coming out with TPS and Tales. I guess I’d rather have them focus on hitting it out of the park with BL 3 at this point. But if they really want to keep tinkering with BL2 I’m all for it.

Done the arena with all 6 VHs in NVHM, only like 2-3 times in 30 rounds did I ever have that problem, and I was always able to find an angle or had homing grenades.

I’ve always thought they should make the game have some sort of recognizable “in combat” mode, and if the combat ends for any reason while you’re FFYL you get second winded. Combat mode being anytime you are actively being targeted by an enemy. Like when the music changes. So if you kill all the enemies but you get downed from DoT, or a stray grenade that hasn’t gone off yet, or an explosive barrel, and there’s nothing around for you to second wind off of, you basically get a freebie. I bet this would eliminate over half of the deaths in any given play through. Nothing is worse then the feeling of killing off the last marauder or psycho only to find yourself on fire and slowly watch your health go down, knowing you can’t second wind.

The problem isn’t how often it happens, but that it happens at all. You can walk out of these things at NVHM with sufficient leveling, but less so in TVHM; in UVHM, it’s almost a pipe dream. Good guns and gear make it easier, but still don’t change the formula.

Just found the perfect picture for enemies killing you…and leaving you to nothing to 2W off of:

Agreed that it shouldn’t happen at all, but at least it’s only rarely been an issue for me.

It may have rarely happened but when you have to start another OP Peak run not because you died or screwed up and fell off a cliff (which happened to me fighting the twin Saturns) but because a surveyor got stuck or redo the final round in Hyperion Slaughter at any level because a surveyor few into the cliffs and decided to stay there, it’s damn frustrating to say the least- and these were the last enemies there to boot (everything else was dead)…
when you have to start another OP Peak run not because you died or screwed up and fell off a cliff</font color>
Ah, terrain fail… I’ve BT/DT, much to the host’s disbelief, and right before the multi-Saturn madness. Speaking of which, that is the one thing I hate in the Peak.

:sigh: Dunno about you guys, but I wish Gearbox had added some short tunnels to run under/through to balance the fact that you’re facing down two of them, especially since they eventually render any attempt(s) to put cover between you and them completely irrelevant.

My favorite hate…

The randomness of the “death timer”

One time I can go in and out of FFYL MANY times and the timer seems to tick properly

The next time…it flashes to empty in a micro second.

I HATE that.

I get that if I have gone in and out of FFYL a whole bunch in recent minutes…the timer will ultimately expire quicker.

But it’s the times when I have died like ONCE in the last 10 minutes…I go down…and the timer flashes to empty IMMEDIATELY!

Not fair…LOL

Yes! I’m glad other people suspect it gets unjust, not only me being a sore loser. I was doing digi in coop with someone yesterday and I went into FFYL maybe two, three times? Then this guy went away for a good 2 minutes before we went on to the next bit and when I went down, the timer ran out near-instantly. Tch!

Oh. Here’s another one. When bosses toss their legendary drops off a cliff after you kill them.

Wasn’t a legendary, or a boss, but I just killed a marauder that dropped something purple, but as he died he did a backflip-cartwheel and kicked it over the side of a cliff. Jerk.

@johnrr6 Don’t forget about vehicles – they seem to have a propensity to try to hit you. I got downed, and a Technical in the Dust just aimed to drift into me. 1HKO’d me, much to my annoyance.

Also, I’m not sure what happened here. During another Dust run to try to farm the Gwen’s Head (=Twin prefix), I got thrown from that Bandit camp near the other gate (by the slot machines) and landed on the hood of a Technical – wait, insta-FFYL?

@Column BT/DT to a lesser degree. Flynt dropping his Tinderbox (and possibly Thunderball Fists) over the edge? Right… make me play elevator for it, goin’ down, then (having to) climb my way back up again. Thanks a (frickin’) lot, Cap’n.</font color>

Mad Mike. He seems to be able to shoot with that amazing rocket launcher he uses, no matter where you hide. Just to rub salt into the wound, when you down him, you find he leaves you a repeater.

@smithoz2000 I’m still not sure what the chances are that he spawns with an elemental. I do remember that one case was a definite shocket launcher because I kept getting zapped in the presence of no barrels, and my shields+life were just instantly GONE. On the plus side, thank God that he never spawns with something remotely like an ETRL, which would probably make him as broken as the railgun in “Red Faction”:

Getting into FFYL through normal means (A few guys getting the drop on me) Then as soon as I get second winded, some a-hole snipes me back into FFYL. And this goes on and on for what seems like forever. Meanwhile I’m getting more broke by the second because I keep respawning with the New-U. That’s literally the worst feeling ever. Getting your money drained because you keep getting killed over and over again.

That’s actually a really good idea. Tunnels in other games, thinking Half Life 2 Strider battle in particular, give you a fighting chance and a bit more control in navigating the battlefield when you’re dwarfed. The advantage of being ant-sized in comparison to a giant like Saturn is speed, and being a bit more active with cover is more satisfying than cowering behind one small rock clutching a Sand Hawk :stuck_out_tongue:

OK, this one is new to me:

Control Core Angel, ploughing through the waves. Roland throws out his turret, which is good because I could use some health and ammo. Except it’s bad, because he throws it ON TOP OF an ION-Loader, which promptly puts up it’s shield. So now nothing from the turret is getting out, and I can’t risk going in because my health is low…

Thanks, Roland - that was a real help. :frowning:

Crap, that’s a new one for me too.

the entire sawtooth cauldron zone is a mess and makes me want to tear my hair out especially since the reason you have to go there was a contrivance to make the story longer… it has way too many things spawning at once it’s basically constant ffyl no matter how good your gear is and the elevator guy (mad max w/e his name is) just constantly spamming rockets and dodging everything is beyind annoying

@barrk Mad Mike’s in Bloodshot Stronghold; Mortar’s in Sawtooth Cauldron. But IMPO, the Cauldron’s not a problem unless you either venture into Thresher territory, or run into Buzzards with no ground-bound enemies present.

That aside, I feel your pain.

backpedaling is so annoying in this game and I hope they fix it to not be so cheap and frustrating in the next game. it doesn’t even look good. the enemy programing in this game can detect crosshairs on them and then they just wiggle and wiggle while they run ■■■■■■■ backwards it just looks so broken and is infinitely annoying. better enemy pathing would be so much appreciated.
