On to this point. I don’t see how it would be impossible.
There are two incredibly melee heavy characters, and the melee weapons could give boosts in and of themselves, independent of damage.

I was thinking this. Make them like grenades and not have base melee damage for characters. Although that would mean that there would have to be Norfleet-level melee weapons so that you could do well with them even without melee builds (okay maybe not Norfleet-level but you get my point). Otherwise there would have to be enough room in the skill trees for every character just to accommodate melee weapons.

I see what you mean, but what I would say is;
A bit of column A and a bit of column B.
Weapons strong enough to be independently good, and game changing given the right skills MUST be available. It is one of the spices of Borderlands.
This could be nice if as an Action Skill. Something like Krieg, where the VH leave the guns aside and start to use the bow.
Also, melee as a category would be a nice add.
One thing that I wish for the next Borderlands title is more mobility. TPS gave us double jump and slam, what was really nice. But why do not go further? Blink, plane, slide and this stuff could be amazing.

As for ‘blink’, I think you’re talking about teleportation. If that is the case, I suggested something like that for Zero’s Death Blossom’s. But just in case I got it wrong, start from the top.
Will they also start doing Ollies, Frontside 180’s and Helipops as well?

Only one thing. Let Gaige select the enemy for DT like Wilhelm and Wolf in TPS. I have lost count of the times I’ve been facing a Rabid Stalker (or the like) while DT plays with a Skag Pup

They should do it fot every class with a pet as Action Skill.
A “Target That Badass!” skill? Sounds a lot more useful than One-Two-Boom!

I wish there was COM for every character that dramatically lowered your playability, but dramatically heightened your chances of finding Rare items.
It is nullified in 2p, 3p, and 4p unless everyone else has on the equivalent.
Com Names;
Axton: Mercenary
Zer0: Hitman
Maya: Fox
Salvador: Looter
Gaige: Scrapper
Krieg: Raider
Or something like that. I feel as though being able to overcome a severe adversity should come with equal reward.
How about just giving it a synergy with the VH relic? maybe even letting it guide you to hidden chest in a co=op game? Kind of like playing that pld kid’s game where you just give a verbal clue as to how close they are to finding something? “You’re getting warm- warmer- warmer, naw, you’re cooling off!”

This one isn’t really about gameplay balancing, but I feel like a lot of Salvador’s standard gamechangers (and by standard I mean tier 3/capstone) aren’t exciting enough. Auto-Loader and SASG are probably the worst offenders; while they aren’t bad skills, they don’t have the oomph to attract mainstream players that Scorched Earth or Execute have. NKLO and Keep Firing are better off since they both go well with their respective trees’ themes and have a noticeable change, but from what I’ve seen most players are drawn more to melting enemes with DoTs or the ability to be a badass mutant psycho all the time than they are DPS boosts. Critical Ascensi0n has the same issue (imo) but it got sort of resolved in TPS with I Never Miss and Custom Loads.
Also I feel like Buzz Axe Bombardier should do something more to go with its tree’s theme; unlike Bloodsplosion and every other skill in Bloodlust, it has almost nothing to do with Bloodlust stacks and it doesn’t have “blood” in its name.

Dibs on BL3’s new stealth/pet class, a skill that drops four shadow clones of your character, each using one of the 4 weapons in your slots.

[/quote]I think Taste of Blood, Buzzaxe Bombardier, and Blood Trance should’ve been in the Mania tree.
As for Salvador, thoughts on these?:
-
Auto-Loader in the Rampage tree
- Swap Down Not Out and Steady As She Goes
- Swap Divergent Likeness and All in the Reflexes
- Swap No Kill Like Overkill and Lay Waste, also swapping maxability.
@Abvex: Creative, although IMO 3 clones with whatever weapon you have equipped that is not currently held might seem more workable, especially in online co-op.
I’m gonna assume they spawn with the exact same loadout – mod/shield/grenade/relic – which should theoretically quadruple the effect of any team mod; also…:
- do they have unlimited grenades during the AS’s duration, or are they limited and based on how many the player had at the AS’s time of activation?
- are they gonna be completely autonomous, or can you switch to each and take control by something like pressing the AS button? (If the latter, you probably spawn wherever it is when the AS times out.) In this case

Blood Trance and Taste of Blood are fine; they both involve Bloodlust stacks, and also Bloodlust is the tree that works with both guns and melee (it’s to Krieg what Cunning is to Zer0) as opposed to Hellborn which is more gun-centric.
Swappable weapon set would be nice, meaning you would still have 4 weapon slots but could switch between 2 sets of 4 weapons. The only minor restriction would be for Sal, who could not swap weapon sets while his action skill is active. Since this isn’t going to happen for Borderlands 2, perhaps this could be incorporated into Borderlands 3.
