I have said this before, but it seems that many of the player here have no idea what a MOBA is and the simply fact that the core of the multiplayer in designed around that type of game.
If you are thinking “Oh it has a First Person View, so it must be a First Person Shooter!!!” Well yes and no.
Yes, it does have a FPV and your character control is very much like a FPS.
No, the core game play is designed around MOBA’s which is focused on Teamwork, Map Objectives, Understanding the PRO’s and CON’s of the character your playing and how you have built it along with the other characters your teammates have picked and how they have built them, & lastly Understanding the characters the other team has picked and how they are building them and how they are working together.
Every character has upsides and downside. Every station on the maps have certain advantages which they can add. However this changes based on the level to which the station is built too and how far along the match is/the level of the characters/teams dealing with them.
With MOBA’s it is all about the choices you and your team make from the characters you pick, the helix’s which are selected, your teamwork, how aggressive or defensive your team plays. Most MOBA matches are won by playing defensively and waiting for someone on the other team to make a mistake by being out of place from the rest of their team, over extent/chase someone who is low trying to get a kill. Also that respawn timers increase over the course of the match.
All of what I have talked about in the last few paragraphs is kind of different then what many players only coming from a FPS only background are use too. It does not mean that elements of MOBA’s have not been seen in FPS games, just that most FPS games tend to not focus so much on these elements.
