Thoughts on Whiskey Foxtrot changes

The reduced cooldown on Scrap Cannon is a nice addition, too. I wonder if it effects the refill rate on the Scrap Cannon mag.

I’ll definitely be going pretty hard on the Stick N’ Sap and Swiss Cheese combo with these buffs. I’m also pretty curious to see how noticeable the tenth of a second increase in fire rate is, and if his basic Ironsights are that much improved.

The wording in the update (XB version, anyway) says that the damage buff applies to the tactical rifle.

I think he’s referring to the minor zoom being added to iron sights.

Is this meant to imply that sticky bombs and Scrap Cannon work together? The in game description currently sounds like it should, but the wording of the update sounds like either Scrap Cannon boosts just the tactical rifle by 25%, or the tactical rifle for 25% and everything else 14%? I dunno.

Ooooohhhhh. I understand.

I think the other poster was just saying that “Flak Off and Scrap Bank no longer auto picks, so I can pick sticky and swiss”

Edit: “sticky and swiss” sounds gross somehow… but I’m not sure why.

Oh, i gotcha.

Reading is fun for mentals!

Yep, pretty much what @Zarnias was saying. Stick N’ Sap to bring the target’s shields down quickly followed by Swiss debuff and we just might be able to play like an assassin early game.

I’m just drooling about all the Kleeses that are going to be in game.

Weighted Sticky
Swiss Cheese
Stick & Sap
Napalm

Oh, I’m sorry? Did you have something else to do beside dying?

Yeah… well… Kleese is getting a substantial health buff. Those reoccurring nightmares are only going to get worse.

I’d already been using Swiss Cheese, but had switched from sap to triple threat once I unlocked napalm (no MIRV yet). I get the advantage of sap, but it seems like a less versatile pick (if you want to blanket an area in napalm you don’t have that option). The other thing is, to get maximum benefit out of it, you’d have to have a target with max shields and wait for them to be drained (the description says three seconds). I’d just assume hit scrap cannon as soon as possible and start shooting.

Depends on your tier 1 selection. Slowing seems pretty good with the precision needed on Stick n’ Sap. But, if you took the bonus shield damage on Scrap Cannon you could bust through shields really quick between the two skills, then the Napalm does direct damage.

But, i guess shield damage isn’t a big thing to me. Most characters, have around 200-300 shields. Some, like Toby can get in the 700s. I just feel like shield penetration and bonus damage aren’t worth it when the majority of a character’s health is bound to be health. Eldrid don’t even come with shields! I could see anti-shield on Sentries, but it just doesn’t seem like a hugely rewarding pursuit.

Even if you took slow, you could hit scrap cannon and shields would be gone in one trigger pull.

Yeah, the bonus damage is really more for people that play shield centric, or if there is a Reyna handing out over shields. Again, just not my thing. There are people that like Whiskey’s shield pen helix upgrade, but i think in most cases i’d rather have the 4 shot burst.

I agree completely about shields and shield pen stuff. For one, an assassin is looking for the final blow, not necessarily someone at full health/shield. I do however use Whiskey’s level 10 shield pen bc it’s 100%. It catches players like Kleese and Reyna off guard almost every time.

I honestly don’t know how anyone uses anything other than the slow nade. Activating the ult then sticking a non-tank with the nade is an instant kill EVERY time. And the utility of the 3 nades over the sap is worth it to me: if I connect on one of those nades, the shield is coming off regardless. I get the pushback on melee characters, but the quick melee should be enough to escape if you’re in proper position.

Thing is though foxtrot has already been powerful, everyone complaining about how underpowered he is still confuses me especially with the buffs he recieved before this one. Also I actually miss having to aim with the scrap, i don’t like that it’s instant. Also miss his 6 nades popping out, they should bring those back considering how the mirvs work in the BL series and it actually makes him better than oscar in terms of his nades or at least on par. He’s still pretty OP though.

After trying this new load out, I can easily say Foxtrot does insane damage. I literally shredded Kleese and Montana like it was nothing. I almost felt bad. So I can easily say Foxtrot is better than before.

I have an attack speed build that was literially insane before the patch. Can’t wait to see it when I get home.

Swiss cheese buffed? Omg… if you aren’t a needle character and see me on the field just surrender. It’s over.

I had a guy on my team play whiskey yesterday… he went 1 kill and 14 deaths. So I had no clue about these buffs… surely it still takes a pro but they just elevated the skill gap to a new level.

Yeah, the problem is some players treat him like Oscar Mike which gets them killed way too easily. You have to be patient with Whiskey, harass from the back line and when the moment comes, set up for the kill.
