Is anyone else experiencing a weird instant death bug when engaging Thrall Brutes in PVP? I Just got into my first public PVP match tonight since the update, and died FOUR TIMES as soon as a Thrall Brute connected a direct shot. I took a screenshot via PS4 that shows the Thrall Brute having killed me with 2500 damage, but don’t know how to attach it (any help would be appreciated). Gearbox please fix this!

2500DMG?? Holy damn, I’ve only seen PvE Thrall Brutes do that. Very peculiar. I’d love to know more of this…

That’s probably just the max damage number that is capable of being shown or something, i don’t know; i was playing as Toby, and i know i didn’t have that much total health. I left the match in hopes it would right itself, but no dice.
Reallly? NO one else has experienced this? @JoeKGBX, please let me know that you are at least aware of this now. I don’t want to be scared to play public PVP because of Thrall Brutes, though i’ll get a video next time, if it happens to me again (i’ll need posting instructions though, and i’m still waiting on those from someone for my PS4 screenshot).

They were the first three times. The first time it happened, i was confused, so i went down to the tunnel (oh, it was on Monuments, by the way) to make sure i wasn’t crazy, and BAM: Insta-death again. So i quit the game, turned off my system, rejoined the game, and went down there a THIRD time; i got one-shotted AGAIN (This is where i should have had the video clip ready, but i honestly thought it would right itself after leaving). So i thought “screw it, i’ll just avoid the thralls”, and went back to fighting, which was for roughly two minutes before we lost, and it happened once more, this time when they had been captured by the enemy team. That time i actually killed one from behind Toby’s shield without getting hit, but the other one took it down, and it one-shotted me. Again. I didn’t submit a ticket, because it didn’t happen in the next three matches i played (another two on Monuments, one of which was with Toby again), and i’m hoping it was a one-time fluke. I just wanted to know if anyone else has had this happen to them. If you know how to put a screenshot from PS4 onto the forum, i’d be more than happy to post it here. As i said before, i didn’t even have 2500 health with Toby (i don’t even think it’s possible to get that exact amount; it should be a little over or under with gear), so it’s SOME evidence, i suppose…
I know there was a forum somewhere where I discussed this and Thrall brutes grenades do 2,500 however they are only supposed to attack sentries. If you are close enough to the sentry when the thrall attacks you’ll get destroyed as well.
However, it sounds like you’re experiencing a somewhat different issue. If I had to guess it would be that either thrall brutes are bugged, thrall brutes recognize Toby as a sentry (now that’s a real buff) or my most likely guess is that you threw down your shield and for whatever reason that registers as the same target as a sentry and that’s what got you killed.
I was unaware of this grenade thing. Your theory about Toby being bugged to register as a sentey to the Thralls makes since, and i REALLY hope it was a one-time deal, as Toby is my favorite and most-played character, and Incursion is my favorite mode. To be honest, i don’t remember if i was next to our first sentry when it went down early on, but it’s possible. My guess is that i was, that one of these Thrall grenades hit me (without killing me somehow), and the game registered Toby as a sentry from then on. Seems legit, and i don’t think it’s too farfetched to go farther, and say that the Thrall’s bullets registered as grenades to me for the remainder of the match. I don’t know, but thank you for clarifying the LIKELY cuplrit here, dude. I think i see the truth now, and in the immortal words of King Arthur: “I-I can see. I CAN FIGHT!!”
