I feel ya about Reyna. Personally I thought I nailed it with her in the Beta on a story mission. In a PVP match though…yeaah no. I still gave ample support but at the end I was thinking “That could’ve gone better”. I think the Rogue’s are kind of in a league of their own far as player opinion goes.
I’m looking to make Whiskey a possible main with a lot of practice. Obviously he’ll play VERY differently from Mike but I think that’s gonna be the fun of it.
A friend of mine actually pointed out the best way to play WF. It’s his passive that’s the key. Don’t focus the big guys, not out of the gate. Hit the minions, build up his stacks of added damage, THEN hit the enemy. Problem is, right now there’s no way for a player to know how many stacks they have, something that should be added.
You think same could be said for other characters who also work with stacks?
Definitely. I’m not sure who all has stacks, but I remember trying out El Dragon, and wondering if I had his stacks maxed out, or if I should keep trying. Even if it’s a little thing above the health bar, or something unique to each character who uses stacks, we need some way to keep track of that.
To my knowledge I think there’s El Dragon, Attikus, Whiskey (He does doesn’t it? least if I read what you said right)…and I’m sure there’s more but those three are off the top of my head.
Whiskey gets a stack that increases damage dealt on each kill, I believe. He differs from El Dragon in that I believe his wears off, has no maximum count, and has a greater damage boost.
After seeing Reyna played a few more times she seems actually pretty good when coupled with someone with good sustain. I’ve played in some really nasty games on Ambra when I’ve had a Reyna to overshield me while I escape or before I go in to deal with the massive burst. She could use some quality of life buffs but has some use.

I found Reyna to be very solid. She can do well on her own but thrives when she is coupled with a teammate to help burn people down. I mainly played her running around shielding people but when you combine her mark target ability she can really change the outcome of almost any fight.
Was playing her in a match against a rank 40+ Galiea and whenever she showed up I would mark her and she would just melt under me and my friends attack and have to run away. She is solid support with shield and marking target, she quickly became one of my favorites.

I ran this build with just standard ranged fighter gear (reload, damage, attack speed) though I probably should have switched one up for CD reduction. It lets you keep annoying melees mostly permaslowed, gives you a 1kish spike heal that you toss out about every time its off and you can use your ult to great effect assaulting thr sentry or once mobile protecting your minions all while kind of loitering in the middle of your group.
The only thing to really keep in mind is that while you can win the occasion 1v1 against slowed opponents, you can’t heal at all without a team mate nearby so never go alone.

The pax east panel said it best - support classes have teeth in this game. They can play the healer from the back lines but they can also play front line or assassins!
OOOOH NEAT! You think it possible most of these builds they made could work for Story or no?
Yeah she can work in story. I’d probably go more offense than healing there though, and I wouldn’t try a solo run.
For the brief time that we had the beta, soloing with Reyna wasn’t on my mind. She’d be on to do a co-op run. But thanks for letting me know!

Like most support she has a slightly easier time surviving solo but doesn’t put out enough aoe dps to be efficient. I was playing as Reyna once during the open beta and had the entire team leave at the isic fight. I chose to finish it but it took forever…

Plasma burst at 3 (for aoe) and the best defense at 4 make decent ideas but with slazer you have the potential for hearty damage output, there really isn’t much need to home shots on pve and the flat 18% isn’t all that great. The plasma burst ability offers a pretty minimal aoe at half the initial power, and the 16% dmg buff while in overshield is good and all. But it’s just too useful to have a level dependent instant heal.
Y’know I think I tried using something similar to that because I unlocked Slazer on her during the beta. Still a cool build nonetheless
Wow I feel sooo at home here! I thought I was going to be the only one loving her. Currently she’s my main then comes the rest of the Rogue Battalion. I play support in all competitive games so I’m not looking for the kill, but when you gear her correctly she can turn the tables in most matches. And the Super Sayain taunting is just icing on the cake lol! In the future I hope to get with a faction based group. LONG LIVE ROGUE BATTALION!!!
So doubt anyone really follows Gamestop’s FB page, but I saw what looked like a new LP of one of the characters. This time Toby had the spotlight, and while I’ve yet to watch Parks and Rec. I believe Toby was described as “The Leslie Knope of Killing” just thought I’d throw that out there.
