Blut wrote this. That’s all I’m saying.
I’ll take the Infinity out because I don’t think it’s Top Gear material, even as an honorable mention.
Given how much information is on here that needs to be gone through and fixed/updated, it’s going to be awhile before I can get the new version up. So keep those suggestions coming.
Alright. I have ARs, pistols, RPGs, and shotguns updated. The rest is going to have to wait a bit. Blut and I disagree on a few things, which is why this isn’t a straight port and why it’s taking so long.
I have a question: I use a Rock Ravager (gemstone Casual Ravager) and consider it to be top gear for an explosive Krieg. I’ve also used a casual pounder (Torgue shotgun with the Jakobs barrel) with good effect on OP 8 and was thinking about adding that and the Hulk (Bandit barrel) to the HM section. Any dissenting opinions? Thanks.
I like them for explosive builds.
Especially the pounder IMO
I’m not so sure about that. If the Swordsplosion is already on the list, then I don’t see any reason to put the ravager. The Swordsplosion procs BB easier, uses less ammo, and if you get caught in the bomblets’ explosions all that means is you get to Relase the Beast sooner.
Is there anything a ravager does a Swordsplosion can’t? Because otherwise, it may be better to either leave it out or blend its entry in with the swordsplosion.
Self-damage can ignore health gate, and just because you’re running explosive doesn’t necessarily mean you have RtB.
But is there anything the Ravager can do that the Swordsplosion can’t? They just seem too similar to me for both of them to occupy a slot in top gear.
- No self-damage
- All Ravager projectiles can proc BB whereas only Swordsplosion’s child swords can (the main sword is Reaper splash like the Pimpernel)
- Ravager is less prefix-dependent than Swordsplosion
- Ravager is easier to use
Granted, I don’t know if this is enough to warrant including the Ravager in TG but I’m just saying.
I would advocate a broad entry called “Torgue shotguns” where the Casual Swordsplosion is mentioned, alongside the pounder and Ravager.
Remember that this is supposed to be a guide to help new players make good choices, not a competition.
The Salvador top gear has entries like “Hulk and Ravager”, " Hyperion shotguns " and “Vladof Snipers” and it gets the point across just as well.
Ya ive ran the pounder on a explosive krieg I got started very useful shotgun.
Both Ravager and Hulk should be ok for the Honorable mentions as they’re different enough from the top gear ones, I don’t know about the other barrels though as I believe the swordsplosion covers that kind of damage, accuracy and range.
I consider the Ravager to be TG and the SP to be HM due to what @pestopartyy mentioned. Besides, it’s easier to get a Ravager than it is a SP. A ravager is an up-close and personal weapon, where the SM is more of a mid-range one. I’ve run all three on OP 8 and prefer the Ravager most.
For me personally the swordplosion is the easiest torgue shotgun to use and one of the easiest ingame (still not top-gear however). The accuracy means simply pointing-and-shooting at almost any range in contrast to the other wide-pellet or special pattern options e.g., non red-text torgue and omen, requiring you to be at specific ranges aswell as not all enemies being wide enough for a good ammount of pellets from a ravager to land outside of spit-distances, wich on jakobs shotties can be partially negated from their high fire-rate and quick reloads.
In my opinion a ravager isn’t top gear material due to the restrictions of range, low RoF and really long reload times.
do you think that is neccesary to update this guide?
It’s being updated off-screen, maybe tomorow.
Hit me if you need help chucky, please
I’ll be maintaining it, X, Chucky’s just editing it for me.
Hell yeah, that’d be a badass guide definitely.
Thanks gulf
