Trick of the Light Revisited

Dang thing… I like the gimmick too. I’m sure it’s in the queue to fix.

How’s this? Does that skill go both ways (like if I’m engaging with an enemy, the Drone will get the buff)?

I think there Drone just constantly gets the TotL damage for some reason. This is based on really old testing I did, but I am pretty certain since the Drone can’t be targeted and it counts as our damage, TotL works as a constant buff for it.

Yeah this is unfortunate. I was pretty excited when I first saw this mod coming out.I tried really hard to make it work, but the results were just not there. Hopefully a day will come where Zane is strong enough he can use something else besides Seein Dead…

Should be easy enough to test? I’d take that for my SNTNL-only Zane. Respeccing now.

Edit - I’m seeing cryo damage out of the Drone (no Winter’s Drone equipped) on occasion with its other damage… seems like I still need to not be the target for that to trigger (which is fine).

Yeah. My game play is so messy I can never really get concrete stuff on that. I only know Boomsday Drone doesn’t hella cryo for me :joy:

I’m pretty sure the drone does get ToL because like Adabiviak, I see cyro damage from it and also don’t spec into Winter’s Drone.

The shame of it is that I also think the Conductor mod was the right direction for GB to go. But the 25% clearly isn’t enough. What would be? Would a constant 50% Bonus shock be enough? Would that be too much? Without all the other bonuses from Seein’ Dead, I think it probably wouldn’t be enough.

You mean 50 per stack right? I think 100% shock damage effectively doubling your damage would be enough.

Yes.

I’m going to try to pay a bit more attention to where my AS bars are next time I hop in the game, but I think they usually float around 50% for most engagements due to the “diminishing returns”, so I’m not sure 50 is enough because I don’t think you’re actually at that for most of the combat.

I tried it before, not sure if the clone buff has done it any favors, but when I used it I found it not adding much of consequence to a clone build.

On a related note, I’m not sure what people have against Fractal Frags, I think the skill is hard capped to only occur so many times in a set period because the clone regularly throws grenades for me without any real interruption to shooting. The only I can complain about there is the grenades’ targeting isn’t the greatest with something like the Fish Slap or Piss grenades.

I don’t think the clone buff added anything to ToL, just that it made clone builds more viable and the clone distraction is what enables ToL. I’ve certainly found the extra cryo helps me do more damage when I’m not just letting boyo murder everybody by himself.

I haven’t really tested Fractal Frags but when I first switched back to the clone he sure didn’t seem to be performing the way streamers were showing until I removed the points from FF. My understanding is that its actually a kill skill and is triggered by Seein Dead and is therefore a damage skill and more grenades = less shooting = less damage.

I will admit, FF certainly makes the game more “fun” especially with hextacular mods lighting up the screen. It makes you seem like you’re wrecking things even if you’re actually doing less damage.

i disagree if it was coded correctly cryo is better, speaking in terms of damage potential. the more bonus elemental dmg you stack the better. for example lets say u are playing without anointed gear with condcutor com and totl you can litierally still break recursion or other multi ricochet guns. if it was same element as conductor’s bonus it is less be benficial. and also early community was asking for zane to ahve mor cryo skills lmao (dum people) so they made it cryo
