TTW, a whole lot of crazy fun, but the inventory UI can be improved, particularly for 2P Split Screen. Most of the below would improve inventory management when playing 2P split screen, but would also positively impact 1P:
-
Sort out Sorting! When rummaging through the backpack/inventory, sorting by ‘type’ does sort by type of items (i.e. spells, weapons, rings, etc), but sorting by ‘type’ when active on a weapon slot and looking through related backpack items, doesn’t do anything (or so it seems). Sort by ‘type’ in this moment could best be by item type within its category (such by gun or spell type, elemental damage, etc).

Improve ‘R3’ for additional info. An unfortunately necessary button when playing 2P split screen (local, PS5), it only works when clicking on an item when looking through your backpack, NOT when actively selecting an item for an item slot (makes direct full comparison impossible). To compound the issue, if you ‘go back’ to the backpack list again, it takes you to the top of the list. So when playing 2P split screen, the only way you can get the full item info is by clicking R3 within your backpack, and having to go back and repeat these steps multiple times down the list again. R3 should work wherever you are in the inventory screen (backpack or selecting weapon/item slot), and when hitting ‘go back’ it should put you on the last viewed item in the list.

It would be best if a little more thought can go into the workability of 2P split screen inventory management. We can’t have the same full view that we would in 1P, but making it less cumbersome, with some more filtering options and more sensible back/forward actions would be awesome! A better way of comparing all the info/stats of the active and desired items would be the best and most basic need we have.

They can’t do any better than 10 years ago or they don’t really care and its just thrown together as an afterthought. Make your own mind up.

That’s the one I’m going with considering there are smaller companies that make split screen work just fine. Split screen for this and BL3 seems to be one of @GBX many kryptonites now days.
