As an Ambi-Hextrous Deadshot build, LOVE LOVE LOVE this melee weapon! However, I’m unsure about the Spellblade feature. According to the red letter buff, it converts melee damage into spell damage. I have 2 spells. Does it convert based on both spells, or just the spell in the originally intended spell slot? It doesn’t adopt the spell’s element, so I can’t tell. Both of my spells do around 25k on crit, and my melee does around 1.5k base, 5k on crit.

Side note: Love the Kirby Easter Egg that it is! Right?!

…it means that the weapon’s damage is considered spell damage. Bonuses to spell damage from sources such as your skills or Spellshot passive increase the damage of the weapon.

The spells you have equipped are wholly independent from your melee weapon. It’s like how guns work. The damage of your shotgun doesn’t modify the damage of your SMG.

Ohhhh! I’m an idiot! That makes much more sense. Yeah, my spell dmg buffs are high. Thanks for starting your reply with “…” – I deserve that, lol! No hard feelings whatsoever; very much appreciated!

Found me a new vampire one, no element though :unamused:

Working well to assist with my Mage Armor activated! Come at me; I’ll brawl until my next murder spell is ready!

You’re not an idiot. In retrospect, this game does have a strange way of wording many things and I can see how that could have been unclear. I’m glad you’ve found an item you’re enthusiastic about.

It’s a fun melee weapon and I highly recommend it for spell builds

I rate the vampire buff at the top for spell builds. I rarely use guns. Spells, vampire Kirby smacks, spells, repeat. My survivability has increased with vampire on my Kirby wand.
