Unsure where to post so I’m going to post here:
Only played for about 2-3hrs but I AM LOVING this game!! Just was super excited to read how other people are taking this game but sadly no forums LOL

Anyway, the SPELL system is so good. I’m loving the different variety of spells. Makes me feel a bit-ish like Bioshock. I wish I picked the Spell class so I could spam 2 spells but I picked Spore class and I just unlocked my little Mushroom companion and I don’t want to let him go lol

I’m liking the Borderlands references and as a person who really enjoyed Battleborn I also like all the stuff where you can see it’s from its predecessors and what they’ve changed/adapted. The Spore companion is basically just a chibi version of Miko haha

I know I’m going to be playing this all weekend. Can’t wait for more from you GEARBOX! Always a blast playing your games

I’ve downloaded it before going to work thinking that I will do tutorial section, but spend all time I had (~20 min) creating my Berserker. I wish nothing unexpected happens this weekend and I will be able to spend some time Zerking around fantasy land :slight_smile:

It was. But it seems like they’re stepping back from any and all involvement and there’s suspicions the forum may be shut down in its entirety. See upthread.

Effectively the only ones with any editorial abilities are the moderators whom are neither paid nor GBX employees nor do they have admin privileges to create a new section. See upthread.

And no word from anyone at Gearbox at any level despite direct messages (upthread).

No, I mean honestly Discord doesn’t do the same thing at all, it’s an IRC replacement, not a forum replacement. If you want a guess (and it’d be that, and based on previous closures by other companies at that) it’s that companies don’t want to go through the effort of providing space for public complaints - which is likely from their perspective the largest result of a forum.

Yeah it makes me sad there’s no dedicated subforum here for TTW. Discord is usually a trash fire. In my experience reddit’s been a little better.

But I still come back to these forums for the pinned threads of reference material and science shenanigans and whatnot, for the various BL games.

(Oh and by the way, I did preorder the game and though I haven’t gotten far yet, it is pretty fun. Takes little getting used to if you’re super-hardcore Borderlands and are used to its traditional inventory/skill tree system, but the essence is still there and the ‘new’ stuff for your character and your loadout is pretty cool.)

Trusting people like K6 and Joltz for honest advice on a Boardlerlands game is like believing a used car salesman. Their entire income and livelihood depends on the Borderlands games being popular and selling well. Them saying a Borderlands game is bad is like a used car saleman saying he doesn’t have anything on his lot that you would like.

Is there a way to report bugs? I’m guessing these are common, but two that I’m getting frequently on the Series S are my companion’s health bar showing that they’re dead when they’re not and pop-up information disappearing right away such as when selecting/highlighting power stats or hero points under hero stats. Sorting equipment by type doesn’t seem to sort correctly unless it sorts by subtype, which it might (although I wish it would just group things that share ammo together and maybe do subtypes within that group). I also don’t get why certain gun types almost never seem to spawn compared to others.

Except that it also provides a great way to discuss positive things and “the meta” equipment. Or to hear about builds you had no idea could exist, or the “what did you do in borderlands X today?” thread, or “ideal playthrough for borderlands 1” or “looking for players”. I’m not going to do most of that on youtube. Looking for players is pretty good on discord though.

I’ve been on reddits subreddit for Wonderlands for months now. I thought, hey maybe now that Wonderlands is out, maybe the forum is up at gearbox. I am not signing up for 2k forums at this time. I’ll probably stick to youtube for clips/meta, discord for looking for players, and reddit for discussion.

Totally forgot about them. Sadly I’ve been watching that forum for the past several days and it’s deader than Roland.

Although if these forums also go the way of our Soldier friend, it’s better than nothing and still better than Discord
