Well this was an informative and disappointing read. I’ve got some good info and had a fair bit of fun with some of the folks on here, hell even played some co-op too, sad to see it may not continue.

Of the options we have kicked around, this could be one of the better ones. Although I have not visited 2K’s forums, so I don’t know whether they work the same way.

When I looked, they had one (1) category for TTW, and it looks like it’s running on phpBB or something similar? Certainly looks closer to the vBulletin format the old GBX forums ran on.

This situation is a frigging TRAVESTY…

This forum has been a SOLID source of information, Archiving, discussion and FUN since BL2.

it literally was one of the MAJOR reason I played and enjoyed BL2 and BL3.

It’s biggest plus point was as a source of HELP!

Where do I go for that info now?

2K’s “official forum” has all of 7 posts in it…totally clunky and unused
2K and GB help tickets?? Wow, good luck with that!

I have a multitude of issues…the game is difficult to enjoy on a PC…I can’t even buy SSDs, will not link to shift, my inventory screen is clunky as HELL. Just selling junk equipment is a dangerous chore. The Map system is a TOTAL mess. And this is the SAME PC that played BL3 just fine…

And GB not only provides little to NO help…they won’t even allow us to help ourselves in their own “official forum”

And I am especially totally disgusted with K6, Moxsy, et all for them claiming the game is so “Great” when there are so damn many little visual problems (on PC anyway) and literally no way for us to share knowledge to even help ourselves.

“Totally Honest Review” Uh HuH…riiiiight…

I propose we pick an unused area in the forum and start a Topic Request for Help in TTWL. And let’s at least figure out how to make the game playable on PC. And maybe provide help to folks struggling.

How could my favorite game company do this???

So is there an actual way to message GearBox, ive had an issue that ive been trying to resolve, but its been a circle j**k just to get stuff that was supposed be part of my pre-order.

Internet forum seems to be a dying format. Just recently, Eurogamer and Rock Paper Shotgun shut down their forums because apparently it wasn’t worth it to keep them alive. Bioware once had a forum too I believe, but they shut it down many years ago.

It’s a f***ing shame, because the forum format is abandoned without replacement. Discord is glorified IRC, and don’t get me started about antisocial media like Twitter and Facebook. For whatever reason, there doesn’t seem to be a place anymore for the internet forum, because too few people care.

I dont’t know much else to say than to kiss it goodbye. It was good while it lasted, it’s not replaced by anything, but apparently the times demand that it dies, and apparently the type of discussion to be had on forums has to die.

Yes….there is a GB submit a help request…. But all that guy does is send you a standard reply with help links then says here’s what you need to do to forward it to 2k. Which requires an entirely different account and logon. Once you actually do that and start getting 2K to respond they give it a incident number and you can start checking the status on the website. It’s really clunky but once you get it into 2K it becomes official. I’ve had my issue in for three days with no updates but at least it is an open issue. Try this link direct to 2K and you might be able to avoid going to gearbox. You’re going to have to set up at 2K account in their support section though.

Something would get done.

I’m starting to really get tired of gaming companies putting out a product that isn’t ready….

Expect the paid audience to be the testers for it…

Provide no easy ways to self help….

And virtually no support.

And YouTube gurus who praise the hell out of it anyway because it gets them clicks and money.

In the big scheme of things I don’t pay that much money for this piece of entertainment. But I want that entertainment to “entertain” not frustrate me.

I’m about ready to just give up on gaming. Too many other things in life that I can do that I will get wonderful satisfaction from for my time.

I know these companies have to make money and I respect that. But I want a quality product with good support. I don’t think I’m asking too much.

well i messaged 2k since the 25th when i got my game, but i dont think the issue is something they deal with, my game case didnt have the pre-order content, so after like 3 days they said hey try talking to the retailer, who gave a gibberish email (basically a middle finger) & the gamestop workers said “try twitter or messaging gearbox”.
the 2k people were real nice, but im kind of in a revolving door with a waving middle finger. after messaging gearbox they sent me a link to this site (i guess while i wait for them to reply, & keep me busy i guess?)

That’s really on GameStop, then. IMO they should have replaced the missing content (or swapped the whole thing for a sealed case) in the store.

If the missing content was a card with a redemption code on it, I hear that those seem to go missing on many games. If the stories are true, these are actually packaged in the store. If it were me, I’d definitely be asking to speak to the manager.

You might want to look into whatever consumer protection laws apply where you live.

The busiest place I’ve probably looked at with actual info on the game is Reddit.

It’s not as good as here but this place hasn’t been very busy this release. I’ve been mixing here and there for game info.

Well discord can’t really be considered “official” there isn’t anyone employed, there is no kind of feedback section. You could argue that they don’t wanna read feedback anymore other than getting technical bugs reported. The server manager is a streamer who is able to contact them about community requests but that’s about it.
It doesn’t check the same boxes a forum does. It’s just casual conversations and community helping each other. Now you could say this forum has always been the same and they have never bothered about our 1002928282 topics of requesting change and improvement. But i guess it’s just easier to track a certain statement and it’s impact due to likes and or comments in a topic which isn’t really happening on discord. Most things just vanish under the wheel of time.

Tbf the discord is fairly moderated, there’s a channel for known bugs and they are being reported to gbx
But still
You just can’t have your own thread with a topic that stays visible. That’s something discord can’t do and that’s why we have forums.

Reddit man. I go there to discuss just about any topic nowadays. Some of them are more populated than others, but r/Wonderlands is doing fine. https://www.reddit.com/r/Wonderlands/

I have mixed feelings about Reddit. My main issue is that when I hit a search result back to an archived thread in Reddit, it’s often buried within a ton of cruft and ads. I don’t know - maybe it’s one of those things you just have to get used to. But it bugs me…

Never used discord and probably never will… And i’m sure there’s a lot of people who feel the same…

It’s not that hard to just create a subforum here isn’t it?

But hijacking BL3 forum is atm the only way :rofl:
