[TTW] Tiny Tina's Wonderlands - Too short ? Only 10 missions

Just I have beat the game main story is kinda more short than Borderlands 3, of course, I like this new mayhem mode not so fustrating like on Borderlands 3 here is many side quests, same Engine Unreal 4 (updated) , I am sure in the next weeks new stuff is incoming, Events, DLC, More levels and some surprise from GBX.

No one is hating on anything. Just calling it out like it is. You would make a great car salesman. Sell me a lemon for a quick profit instead of selling me something better for my money.

Well what do you know, others are seeing it short as well. I’m not the only one.

Had more fun in my first campaign play through than I did in BL3. It doesn’t feel short, and it doesn’t feel like a DLC cash in. In the long term, time will tell. For now though? It’s an improvement on BL3 for me. BL3 felt like a chore.
TTW put a smile on my face a la BL2.

I have the game at home and believe me there is really nothing REALLY new. Few Collectibles and that’s it. The weapons are absolutely same as in Borderlands 3 there is not even one new manufacturer only names are little different. There are only few maps. And with the season pass you don’t get new story dlcs, you only get 3 dungeons with bosses, no real Quests.
You don’t even get a new game plus. Really new is the character creation and multi class but the character creation is not that good. And yeah multi class is cool but every class have only one skill tree and the action skills are nothing special. And melee isn’t even worth to talk about, just the same one button smashing like before in any other Borderlands.
Yes it is a good Gameplay but not worth that money. Is absolutely more like a dlc.

There will be no repeating of playtroughs because there will be no tvhm. Only when you want to make a new character over and over and farm same gear over and over again.

How can you skip main missions in Borderlands 3? I hear about this first time.
I Loved Bl2 and I loved Bl3. And I’m not saying that Wonderlands is bad, absolutely not, I’m just saying the price is for me personally to high for this little content. Of course I compare this two games with each other. Both games had the same price both games are from the same publisher but one of them is maby 10 % of size from the game before, and there is nothing new in Wonderlands even the weapons are the same as in Borderlands 3, okay character creation and multi classes, thats it. There is no tvhm. With the season pass you get 3 new dungeons no story. But of course I’m sure there will be a season pass 2.

With 12-25 I mean the story… No Collectibles or side missions

I’m trough the game.so I had my hands on the Gameplay and know what I’m talking about

Bl2 had the best story from all and they didn’t give us the possibility to begin with level 30 because the game was so bad:-D
they give us this possibility because bl2 had tvhm AND uvhm and people who knows this game very good and made a lot of playtroughs don’t have to go trough the easy playtrough again, you can start with the more difficult mode.

Is there a true vault hunter mode? I was doing side quests until i remembered how I played 2 and 3- Rush the main quests and then do all the side content when stuff is scaling to my level.

And Anthem was worked on for 7 years, yet the developers said the majority of that game was done in the last 18 months.

The concept of the game was worked on for 10 years. If you actually look at the series history, you’ll notice that Tiny Tina’s Assault on Dragon Keep came out ~9 years ago.

In other words, TT:ADK was a test run of the concept to gauge interest. Considering Gearbox had BL3 to develop, I sincerely doubt that Wonderlands was in production until after BL3 was released, and didn’t go all hands on deck till after BL3 DLC was finished.

If that’s the case, then all work done before that time would have been pre-production, which is concepting the style, designing the systems, figuring out what kind of story they wanted to tell… Basically laying out the blueprints for everything before the anyone can even think of starting the work(because if you don’t, you end up with Anthem, and have months of work scrapped as the lead designers change their mind on things because they didn’t have a solid idea of what is going to be created before people started work on it).

So yeah, I would be really surprised if they had more than 2 years of full speed production on the game(for context, the 4th DLC came out August of 2020, and the last of BL3’s DLCs came out in April of 2021).

The E3 reveal of anthem, what they showed was the game. That showcase was literally the whole game that they had made.

I guess the amount of time required to finish the main story line depends on your playing style. I’m about 6 hours in and am on the 2nd story mission, I like to take my time to explore and enjoy the levels. I care less about how “big” the game is and more about how much I play it when I think about whether it was worth the money I spent on it. I actually like that it’s smaller game because now I don’t have to wait 2 minutes to load a new map or start my game. With 6 classes, the ability to multi-class, and a variety of gear and spells I see huge potential to play this for hundreds of hours. I have no doubt it will be worth what I spent on it. On top of all of that, it’s an outright joy to play.

there’s an unofficial way wich we’re not at liberty to discuss on the forum :stuck_out_tongue:

and to give my 2 cents on the pricing, TTWL is quality over quantity

BL3 still feels like they where trying to many things and launched it to early. i also got more playtime out of the free content then i did from the actual game :frowning:

Yikes, ZmyslowskaKaroli, the simplest things like personal opinions certainly brought out the commenters that want to deflect from the only point you wanted to make, which was half the game at all the price. Even unrelated games hoo- boy. A lot of these replies smack of people with $ interest in this game being a success. In fact, I am so far in complete agreement with your comments. I believe that a fair review is necessary for those without unlimited deep pockets so they may be informed on where to place their limited resources. Based on your review I think it is fair to say that if you liked the original tiny tina (which I feel was the best DLC) waiting for this inevitable price drop is the best option. And even at 1/2 price it may be an overpriced DLC, unworthy of calling itself a Tiny Tina anything.
My prediction…this game goes the way the pre sequel did. And hey, I dont need your comments on my opinion. Just smile and know you’re right and I’m wrong. I truly do love those that are so helpful on the site.

not trying to be a clown, but… 10 years of development in my world is 17500 hours (1 person-year of work = 1750 hours after holidays, vacation etc). I would honestly be shocked if this game was built on ‘only’ 10 years of effort. I get that I am missing the point of ‘10 years temporal’ v. ‘10 years effort’, but the point I am trying to make is that we can spin what we want to say to our benefit if the context of what we are saying is not 100% clear.
I don’t disagree with what folks are saying re: value for their dollars, but to push back on context we don’t necessarily understand is doing ourselves a disservice.
If you like the game and you feel you received good value for your time / financial outlay, then great. If not, maybe don’t support the vendor on their next release by pre-ordering. I can’t think of any other way I as a consumer can impact the vendor than by voting with my wallet. Sure, I can complain in the forums with like-minded (super)fans (and let’s be honest, if you are on the forums, GBX has its hooks into you), but complaints are like anuses, nearly everyone has one. Hopefully GBX does listen to their loyal fan base, but… BL3 and the issues it has (note present tense, not past) are well known via the forums and not getting fixed.
Now that I got that off my chest I can go back to playing.
Enjoy your days everyone, and I really hope I haven’t offended any of you.

I buy the game on resellers (40 bucks) then I can understand people that buy the game at full price or bought the deluxe/super deluxe editions, also I have to say than just one skill tree is not much and not so powerful like on previous Borderlands specially Borderlands 2 (his magnum opus).

No unfortunately there is no tvhm. There was a info from the publisher before the launch, they don’t plan a tvhm for Wonderlands.
But I hope they change their mind.
Tvhm and uvhm was always important for me personally. To try out new builds, farm new gear, get new quest rewards etc. I mean when you have this new multi class system you want to try it out with new builds and not have to create new characters and level up again.

I loved all of the other borderlands games I played all of them many times so this time I thought I can Pre order, I even Pre order the Chaotic edition with season pass. Believe me this was the first and last time I did this. I’m not saying Wonderlands is bad, it’s not, it is a very good game but for me 15 hours story Gameplay is not worth the money. 90 Euro this is a lot of cash. Something about 100 dollars I think.
