Twister's Twisted Twister Guide

Finally managed to find this old resource from ItsTwister which currently links to a dead-link in the resource page. Been looking for ages hope you enjoy the read to those new to Gaige. (Note: I did clean up the typos and misspelling as it was bothering me.)

~ Twister’s twisted Twister guide & build ~

Hello everyone its no ones favorite guy with the guide/build I was suppose to do a while ago… Whoops…
Anyway this guide is how to use the shotgun names Twister effectively on Gaige and the build I like to use with it.

Well lets start with a few common question that no one ask, like “why the Twister and not something like a Blockhead or Interfacer?” well the Twister is a a Jacobs shotgun which means it gets the high Jacob damage but its also a shock weapon which means mean we can boost the damage with Gaige’s LBT tree.
It also have a set spread which help ween you have a lot of anarchy.
Now you might say something like “well Blockhead have a set spread that work good with anarchy and its fire so you get that vs flesh boost so you will do more dmg” my answer to that is: SHUT UP I don’t care I prefer Twister magic okay?

Thing that make the Twister awesome on Gaige:
~ as mention before it work really good with anarchy.
~ as it is a shock weapon we can build the LBT tree around it.
~ the spinning projectile can hit large enemies more then one time with one shot.
~ the projectiles goes through enemies which means if there’s something like a wall behind the enemy they can bounce back with CE and hit the enemies again.
~ as mention above the projectiles goes through the enemies you can hit more then one enemy if they are close to each other.
~ it has splash damage.
Now when we have gone through that lets talk more about the build and weapons we will use.

Gear:

Twister:
Well isn’t this obvious? no? Shut up!
Preferred prefix: Rustlers

Grog nozzle:
We need some healing don’t we?
I prefer the Grog for its massive healing rate and its high slagging chance and I don’t really like using the Hail.
Preferred Prefix: well-its-random

Ricochet Fibber:
This is for enemies we cant get close to or that we need to keep distance from, which is pretty much the same thing isn’t is?
It also murders Surveyors.
I call this gun my “Pocket shotgun”.
Preferred Prefix: Dynamic + Jacobs grip

Hydra / Flakker / Conference call:
This is the gun/s we will use to kill shock resistant enemies, I normally use the Hydra here but pull out my Flakker for bigger enemies to kill them fast, like tree ants.
I also carry a few Conference calls for enemies I want to take out from a bit of a distance like Constructors.
The three guns above was recommendations but any none shock weapon work here really.
If you know that there’s no shock resistant enemies in the area you can have a launcher here.
Preferred Prefix: Rustlers / Casual / Practicable

Blockade:
I love this shield its awesome!
It blocks damage really good and can actually take a few hits.
You want one with big shield cap and one with low recharge delay.
We will use the one with a big shield for normal mobbing, it will probably have something like a 4 sec recharge delay but this doesn’t matter as we have BSS.
We will use the one with low recharge delay during boss fights, it will have a lower shield cap but it will recharge faster which is more important during long boss fights.
You want that one to have 2 sec or less recharge delay.

Legendary Catalyst:
It perfect, we use all the skill boosts and it will give us a nice damage increase.

Magic missile:
Its a good slag grenade, its our main way off slagging.

Bone of the Ancient Shock:
More damage, that’s all.

Combat tactic:
The tactic is pretty simple but effective:

  1. Summon DT for enemy distraction.
  2. Either rush in with your Twister or take out someone from a distance with your fibber to activate your kill skills.
  3. Get close to an enemy and shot them in the fave with your Twister.
Notes: Keep the enemies slagged ween your at a lower stack count, you don’t need to slag super much ween you’re at around 300 stack but its still good to do on bigger enemies.
Always keep running and never stay still, ever!
Summon DT when he is ready to distract.
If you’re gonna prestack before a area I recommend stacking to something like 50-100, that’s usually when you start to feel the POWA.

Spec: [updated 16/12-13]
Build

This is my basic spec I like to use, you can change it around if you want but these are the most important skills:

Best friends forever:
Close enough: its one of Gaige’s best skill and it helps all our guns.
Upshot roebutt: This will keep our distraction up which is a good thing.
Explosive clap: this will stun the enemies and will let us get to them easier and kill them.
Unstoppable force: this will let us get to the enemies faster and it will make our shield constantly recharge which is nice.

Little big trouble:
Wires dont talk: With 10/5 in this our shock weapons get a nice boost and as we are using alot of shock weapons this is an awesome skill.
Interspersed outburst: This gives an awesome damage boost and with 10/5 its nerly 100% to slag at 5 stacks, isnt that just amazing?

Ordered chaos:
Anarchy: due.
Blood soaked shield: this will counter our 4 sek recharge delay and is just one of Gaiges best skills.
Preshrunk cyberpunk: go hard or go home.
Discord: this will let ous keep our stacks if we by mistake reload.
Typecast iconoclast: this will let ous stack faster.
Rational anarchist: its a nice boost ween you start to stack.

*This is a build thats made for mobbing and only works effectively for raiding agianst Pete, as you can see here *Im not the POV, but you might wanna spec out of Electric burn for that fight.

Thats about it, if you have any question feel free to ask the in the comments below.
If anyone wants to try and make a video for this feel free to do it but please inform me before doing it.

You’ve done the community a great service! We need more brave souls to journey into the depths of the archives to retrieve our lost knowledge. Your diligence and industry will be forever etched into the hearts and minds of homicidal roboteers and semi-functioning autonomous flying death machines everywhere.

For real though, thank you.

Well thanks part of it is we had the broken link and i found a web service that has been archiving things since 1996 so I was able to just type the borken link url into it’s archive search and voila! Hopefully there’s more lost knowledge that can be recovered using it.

Waitwaitwait. This is a bit important. How tricky is this to use?
There’s an absolute treasure-trove of good information on the old forums, and it’s a complete pain to get to (given certain unresolved problems having to do with archiving formats which I won’t complain about futher here, given that everybody knows already.)

Could you enlighten me?

Very well done on porting this for us. ItsTwister was a contributor of note, it’s good to see his stuff again.

Probably referring to the Wayback machine of the Internet Archive - I’ve used it myself a few times, as has @Chuck80 and others. If that’s the one, it’s a little tricky to use and even then not all the pages may be archived (plus links within articles need considerable massaging sometimes.)

@Einskaldir16: You’ll find a bunch of tips and hints for formatting the port for the new archives here. Although that post is mostly aimed at guides for TPS, some of the missing information can be found further down the thread. And thanks for unearthing this one!

It actually wasn’t very tricky. Lets take twister’s guide as an example. After some google searching I found a website called Internet Archive Wayback Machine Link Here.. I then copied the deadlink to the old forum post put in the old deadlink and it shows if it has any snapshots of the post since it had 2 I chose the oldest and that was that.

Depending on when the snapshots were taken, it can take some fiddling to get the right link. Sometimes you get lucky though! The worst is when the content you really want is on page 5/120 and the archive didn’t go past page 3 for some reason. Popular builds should be ok though - I’ve managed to pull a couple out the same way.

Nice port

Might I suggest a small edit to the OP @Einskaldir16 ?

Would you tag @itsTwister in your first sentence like this (with the @ sign) so that he gets notified (and credited) properly ?

Uh hi… you could have asked me befor reposting my old guide, my work.

I choosed not to port this guide so if you guys want a guide make a new one.
