I used to kill my thoughtlocked target first so that subsequence and ruin would continue to proc into a pile of mobs. Once they buffed cloudkill and the fact that cloudkill and bee shield won’t proc on your thoughtlocked target (which is a huge bummer, thoughtlock should be treated as phaselock for how damage works), I’ve started to change it up and leave the thoughtlock target alone unless more enemies are nearby that need to be slagged, then I’ll finish off the thoughtlock mob so subsequence can grab another one for ruin.
I don’t use thoughtlock for the damage the enemy can do, but instead just so an enemy is grabbing the agro. Because of that, I don’t choose to thoughtlock the toughest enemy because that shortens phaselock duration. And again, I want cloudkill and bee shield to work on the toughest enemy.
Bee shield is way more usable in a thoughtlock build because if you initiate with thoughtlock, nobody shoots at you.
I mix it up depending on the mob, but setting things up so Converge pulls a bunch of people into a fresh Cloud Kill zone decimates mobs. As I type this, my siren who uses Thoughtlock/Sub Sequence does not have Cloud Kill because I find it kills them faster than I like. I really enjoy the slow erosion of a confused mob.
Anyone know if any raid encounters benefit from you thought locking the minions around the boss? I’d assume that most of the raid bosses themselves will be immune. But maybe some of them aren’t?
Perhaps thought locking a minion of Hyperius would be good? Would that cause that minion to stop providing shields for Hyperius?
You need an NE weapon to pull down dragons or else you can’t slag the dragons if you put DOTS on them, Brood first because he’s easy and second win opportunities. Healianth second because he of his dangerous attacks and healing. Killing 2/4 of the dragons makes your survival pretty much guaranteed (barring stupid mistakes). Next Incinerator, his attacks are slower, so he’s lower in priority. Boost is last because his ability is useless and makes him a sitting duck.
Anything else useful from there? Youtube comments mentioned something about “managing cloud kill”. And no I won’t try to watch the video again. I’ve seen people ruin their videos before with poor music choice. It melts my brain to watch. edit: it’s not bad music. It’s just like a clash to watch. Like if you put mustard on ice cream.
Yea. Its why I generally am not a fan of including a Maya against the dragons. It’s a weird raid. I always wished it wasn’t that way because otherwise Maya might seem like a perfect inclusion for the fight.
She could not spec Cloud Kill (or leave the dragon selection entirely to someone else if you want her on offense). If you’re looking for a seasoned nurse Maya to keep you alive during a raid, I know a guy.
it is okay to have cloud kill so it can help you with healing. Managing it means when Cloud Kill is up you need to shoot a dragon that is far away from the rest so the others will not get accidentally caught in the cloud and land.
Just watched the video, it will not be a waste of your time (put it in 2x speed if you need to). all your questions will be answered in that video.
