So let me get this straight, the teams are uneven. we have 5 they have 4, one of their players left the game after being killed 3 times. the whole match despite it being uneven was a stalemate. not either team as able to damage each others sentry. even though our team was leading in points and dominated the middle 60% of the time.
they still win?
how does that work? we had more points yet they win?

It actually bases victory on average points per person, not total team points.
For example, a team of 4 with 84 score vs a 5man team with 100.
84/4 = 21, 100/5 = 20. The 4man team has 1 more average score and are awarded the win.
I do believe that is how it works, at least.

Well, either they damaged your sentry after the timer ended, or they got kills after the timer endes. Otherwise, a picture of the match would be greatly appreciated.

I feel fairly certain that the screen actually says “Victory by average player score” and not just “Victory by team score”.

It does. And given the fact that this is probably the only real way to win a standstill match if you’re in a 4v5, I believe this is somewhat fair.

Nope, they never brought the shields down on our sentry, and we couldnt do the same with theirs.

I dunno its very possible the manage to do 1 point of damage.
I’ve had game likes this when we’re up more than 44 points in score and have still lost being equal.
Because no matter what if your score is higher by the time you average it out you still have the higher average score. So having more points is still the best thing to do.
Also there was an old glitch that made the losing team win back and the day. Maybe that happened.
