Under 2k player. Game is Dead.(PC)

What about consoles? Any data for them?

That’s nice. Now please let us enjoy the game until the day of it’s imminent death without hourly updates on its sales performance.

I heard a few things but I have not confirmed them at this stage. One thing another user (sorry I forgot who) said is that PSN trophies are tracking really low for Battleborn. I have heard that PC accounts for 20%, Xbox 30% and PS4 about 50% but I cannot confirm that at this point. What I have noticed is that the lows on steam represent the times when the US goes offline (bedtime) and that Battleborn dips well below the steam average for online players at the time. This to me indicates that the game is not doing well outside the USA. Definitely not in Australia/NZ. If you look at Google Trends you will see Overwatch is hugely popular around the world in general but Battleborn was (prelaunch) mainly of interest in US/CAN/UK/AU and you can drop AU of that list now. To be honest I expect Gearbox’s own metrics to have picked up on this well before I and others have. They have obligations to see it through but anything other than what was offered pre launch is likely to be canned at this stage.

I have not stopped you have I? You can still play as much as you want too and I wish you would as it will boost the numbers.

Info for consoles here. No clue about Xbox.

I don’t get the point of these threads. What does talking about a perceived population death do to help the problem if there is one?

Do you think by making these threads that somehow magically population will jump up? A new marketing campaign will magically begin?

I don’t get it. Just play the game, discuss the GAME(characters, maps, modes, builds etc). Stop posting worthless negative drivel.

So much positivity and productivity here… Calling things you love dead must be the new big thing.
I know all points people will make to proof why its a productive & caring discussion from their perspective, but I simply wonder why concerns have to be put in this manner.

If your grandma is sick would you call it productive/caring/positive to fortell her imminate soon death? Yeah, thats showing love & care…

I“ll play BB now. Necromancers of all age are welcome to join - lets keep it alive.

Game is dead is an overused phrase.

You know what games are dead? City of Heroes and Infinite Crisis

Game that are not dead? Titanfall and Battleborn.

It’s true the game has issues, but the game is not dead. Maybe it’s because I’m old but I remember when having an online game with 2k players was great. You can still play with 2k players.

because some of us can still love the game but not be a blinded fan boy.

ignoring the problem only makes it worse GB needs to do something to improve the numbers. i have yet to see any marketing for the game.

No man, game can’t be successful unless it has 5+ million active accounts and a forum drowning in toxic trolls.

THAT my friend, is the true sign that your game has ā€œmade itā€.

LOL how does ā€œacknowledging low popā€ on the forums with doomsaying posts HELP THE GAME AT ALL?

Please, enlighten me. Tell me how this helps a game at all.

I’m not a fanboy either, I didn’t even know this game existed until it launched. I’ve just been playing games for 20+ years and know that this is a stupid issue with stupid threads bringing it up.

YEs i would point it out that she is sick and she is dying if everyone else around her that loved her are being blind to it and refusing to take action.

Ill be loud saying SHE IS DYING!! we need to do something rather than stand by and ignore it is happening like the others.

I know it is seen as negativity to discuss the low playerbase but to say ā€œstop talking about itā€ just seems to be denying that there is any issue.

I really enjoy playing bb and am pretty gutted with the numbers.

I do understand the frustration that with it being brought up there is nothing we the playerbase can do to actually help (bar play it ourselves, which i will do until the pop is too low).

I guess the hope is that seeing this Gearbox kick up publicity a gear or something.

No one is ignoring the problems, but making a ā€œGame is deadā€ thread is the most cliche game forum post ever. Every game gets them. Even WoW gets ā€œGame is deadā€ threads. They are pointless.

Now making a thread about how the matchmaking needs tweaks or that a certain character seems to OP or that the game should get a draft pick mode. Those are helpful.

I’ll tell you why it’s pointless to talk about it.

Who do you think knows more about the population habits of the game. The random guy who checks steam player charts once and awhile and tries to play a game not in the primetime or the company who RUNS THE GAME and has access, at all times, to every metric of data involving populations?

Take your time with that one.

because we have tried to talk to discuss how to improve numbers but fanboys refuse to acknowledge the bad sales and GB is doing a bad job communicating with the community.

discussing how to solve issues a good thing. poeple ignoring that this is an issue, low sales low population is bad.

I remember all the hate and on the killzone 3 forum. Similar predictions and sentiment where there even before launch. I played that game on and off for three years. The third year it became notacible that there were not a lot of players (often games were played with less players than the maximum) but it was still playable in it’s third year.

maybe game is dead thread would not appear if GB staff would be more active with the community, rather than ignoring their community for the most part.

Well uh both really.

The PC version is only through steam which does record everything so their stats are going to be accurate. I’ve also not seen anything by the devs recently about the pc version population.

Is this a joke?

I’ve seen more orange posts in the last 3 days than I’ve ever seen blue posts on ANY of Blizzards forums.

They are rolling out patches to fix problem heroes as we speak. They are hardly ā€œignoring the communityā€.

I think I’d shoot myself if I was a Dev trying to deal with today’s gamers.
