Don’t agree with anything at all the OP stated. Except galilea… I’m sorry but the only way you can defend galilea is if you like playing as her. Every talent in this game that a character can be good at, she does. And does them very well. She’s the only character in the game that you cannot beat 1v1 (unless the person playing her is absolute garbage which rarely happens). The only character that I absolutely do not ■■■■ with 1v1. Any other character, even Montana, if I see them alone I’ll go mess with them. Won’t always kill them but I’ll at least occupy them for a bit and kite out. There is NO kiting from galilea. If she sees you and wants you dead… You WILL die.
If you get the drop on someone, throw absolutely everything but your ult at them before they do a single thing to you and they still win pretty much every time… I’m sorry but that’s not right. All she does is laugh, turn around, CC you, half dead before you can move even with reduced CC time, then good luck trying to kite out. And this is all in the rare occasion that she’s being a lone wolf which also is rare.
So you might say, well just don’t fight her 1v1. Okay, again in the rare occasion where you find her alone, she still consistently wins against 2 and sometimes even 3 people. That’s balanced?? As ambra (I’ll bring her up later) I was rolling around with Montana one match and we COULD NOT kill her. Two of the strongest characters in the game and we couldn’t do it. That’s not balance. It gets to a point where her health just sits there not going down, even though multiple people are damaging her, and your lifesteal is being completely negated.
The only time we’ve beaten her with 3 people is when after the first 2 go down the 3rd finally says ■■■■ it and uses their ult. Again… That’s not balanced.
Yes there’s plenty of times someone horrible picks her (usually the random on my team, someone actually went 1 and 6 with her???) and you kill her but those instances are few and far between and don’t mean that she’s only good in the right hands. 95% of our matches, if they had galilea and we didn’t, we got absolutely DESTROYED. That’s not a coincidence.
The only way I would have been okay with not nerfing her was if they left Ambra alone. She was the one character that 1v1 could hold her own or at least run away. After the balancing during the beta, ambra is a shell of her former self (I would hate to see what she was like during the CCT), which is fine. I still find her to be a great character but don’t feel cheap using her. It even feels like her beam breaks off people from them jumping around more than during the end of the beta. But galilea? I didn’t notice anything different… She still dominates.
I don’t know what exactly would be the perfect fix for her but something needs to be done. Not “nerf her into the ground” like all the galilea defenders think is the only option, but put her on the same level as Ambra. She’s still a strong character but takes some smarts to use and doesn’t feel cheap. Anyone that thinks galilea has been nerfed too hard already or thinks she’s fine, just doesn’t wanna learn a new character or have to work for their score.
One other thing… Rath nerfs?? Seriously? If anything he could use a speed buff without having to spec for it to be more of the hit and run type character he’s supposed to be. Without specing for speed it’s really hard to kite from most characters. And his ult is supposed to be powerful. His neutral game isn’t all that good, he can knock you up in the air OR choose the CC option but it doesn’t do a whole lot of damage and is plenty recoverable from. To use dreadwind effectively you usually have to throw out both skills along with it to slow and silence otherwise you’re a giant spinning “please CC me” waiting to happen. I haven’t seen many good rath players but the good ones play him like a vulture. Just circling around waiting until you’re wounded and not expecting it. That’s the only time I see rath (and myself as rath) do well and it takes some skill to get good at being sneaky. There’s matches where he seems to appear out of nowhere when you thought you were just about to win a 1v1 with someone else. That’s just smart playing. If the player just goes balls to the wall challenging people head on it usually doesn’t work out well and at low levels he’s pretty weak. But what’s wrong with using both skills and your ult to get 1 “free kill?” Besides CC, I’ve had thorn just keep jumping, melka has that shoot the ground jump backwards thing and an option for more height, ambra has solar wind options (the staff pound mutation is my favorite, especially knocking people off the map while they hire thrall lol so funny) to knock you back. If your consistently getting killed by dreadwind, I’m sorry but it’s either your own fault or a skilled rath cuz there’s so many things you can do to outright stop it or at least survive it. I would even go as far as to say that the really good Rath players don’t even use dreadwind that often since it leaves you so vulnerable and if you’re playing him right you don’t even need it. There’s plenty of times I die as Rath and realize damn that probably would have been a good time to use it since I was gonna die most likely anyway. When you’re playing him correctly and at 7+ kills and 1 or less deaths, you start to forget it’s even available since you haven’t used it yet. Its more of a panic button when you’re pinched by 2 or 3 and just wanna try and take 1 down with you. In my opinion it’s much better to use it for clearing minions and damaging the sentry because Rath doesn’t become the melee ninja machine until higher levels. They aren’t gonna mess with dreadwind because it’s a way for newer players to get some easy kills, but experienced players will be killing you without it. Let me also clarify that I think Rath is fine right now. I just meant I could understand people asking for a speed buff if you’re gonna ask for anything nerf/buff wise.
I can recognize when a player is skilled at using their character effectively… But galilea is just on a whole other level. She’s seriously the only character that makes the game Not fun to play. And all the things I described about her are when she’s not being supported by teammates, which is my problem. If she’s crazy good while being supported that’s fine, that’s part of the game. But when she’s that good by herself and a downright God with support… That’s not okay.
