Is it possible to get this thing to spawn solo? I want to get the kawaii killer head, going to do this in normal mode so I don’t die, I only want the head, not an op8 Norfleet. How likely is vermi to spawn?
Yea i got him to spawn solo quite a few times. Its 100 percent possible. Edit: was talking about uvhm missed the part where you said normal mode.
thanks rush, how long should I wait for him to spawn? I’m planning on just standing in the part of tundra express where you have to set fire to varkids in the story.
O man it can take a very long time. You might get lucky and he might spawn first try. Or it might take 4 hours or more. On average for me he usually spawns in 1 to 3 hours. Tundra express by the farm house is probably the best place to farm for him.
Vermi actually can’t spawn on normal mode but you’re in the right place, Tundra Express has the largest Varkid spawn areas to farm. Tip for on-level (UVHM) Vermi farming; use the second floor of the Tundra Farmhouse and just peek out the window and fire a few shots to draw aggro. Once the Varkid spawns dry up you can use the spawn further ahead and the one to the right and just lure the Varkids to the farmhouse and repeat the process. Usually on UVHM by the time you’ve exhausted all three spawn points the first lot will respawn again for near infinite Varkid farming. On TVHM though you’re better off save/quitting as you’ll be killing them very quickly after they fail to transform.
Also, to further speed up your farming process, each Varkid form is on a timer from when it could transform. For example, if a BA Varkid hasn’t morphed into a SBA within 60 seconds it wont transform at all so kill it and start again. I think the timer from adult to BA is 30 seconds, then it goes BA-SBA 60 seconds, SBA-UBA 90 seconds and UBA-Vermi 120 seconds. That way you don’t keep a Varkid alive for way longer than is necessary waiting for it to transform, the best way to know when to kill one is when a group spawn together they’ll usually morph within a few seconds of each other, the ones that don’t transform wont so kill them off as the others transform.

I was farming him a few months ago, got two or three solo spawns and one or two playing multiplayer. (all in one weekend) You just gotta be patient and endure the torture, and I personally like Caustic better but that’s just personal preference.

Go to the natural selection annex, get to the end of round 2 and an ultimate badass varkid will spawn, this thing turns into Vermi really often solo compared to trying to spawn it from a varkids at tundra or the caverns! I once had Vermi spawn twice in a row and when timing it I had about 4 spawns within 4 or 5 hours.
If the head doesn’t drop, quit the game so it doesn’t save and try it again, be warned though he has heads, skins and legendary weapons to drop so out of like 20 kills he never dropped the kawaii killer head for me which is what I was after at the time.

I hope you already found the head as a drop, because it can be a real pain in the -stallion. If not; continue spawning in from Tundra express - Farmhouse and watch the uglies do their thing. Somewhere on the web there is a graphic showing the evolution timer on varkids, maybe that can help you out.
And it already has been said but : creature slaughter does offer a UBA, but if the mission is turned in that opportunity is gone unless you reset an entire playthrough -.-

I have all verm heads an skins if you get bored farming, been there got the headache took me around 2 months to get them all.
