Veruc vs Lyuda ratio

Definitely! I should be on tonight at my regular time. I’d really like an OP4 Lyuda, so I’ll be running that guy solo, but might as well do the co-ops at OP8.

Please.

I’m going to pull this into a PM and invite peeps. keeping the data centralized and we can pull from the PM and create a actual thread with the results. Pretty sure you, VH and Pie did something similar.

I was secretly hoping you’ll hint me in the right direction. I knew you would. Thanks.
Not sure exactly when I’ll have time to look more deeply into all that. Probably over the weekend.

@Jefe, you down to do 20 runs co-op, then 20 solo and see what we get? we can attempt this on a number of days to accumulate a good pool size of data?

hmmm… Coop drop rate… Yep, better keep them seperate. Good idea.

Ok. I think I figured out the tables. :crossed_fingers:
So if I add Paulothead 11 runs that give us 211 runs

Total drops 19 12 2 4 1 16 3 4 3 1 5
Veruc N-E Fire Schock Corrosive Slag Lyuda N-E Fire Schock Corrosive Slag
Drop rate (%) 9 7
Element chance (%of drops) 63 10 21 5 18 25 18 6 31

The Lyuda is still trailing. 2% is not a lot but still after 200 runs at a base of 10% it’s enough to start wondering. I’m not a machine either so could I had forgotten one? Not impossible but there’s a higher chance I forgot an empty run than one with a drop.
There’s also this case…

What do I do with it? I entered it as “no drop”. I also had a 30+ dry run on the Lyuda. At which point does it start to be suspicious? I don’t know. Maybe @VaultHunter101 can help.

There is one thing that start to really coming out and it’s the Elemental drop. Clearly the Veruc is (heavily) weighted toward Non-Elemental but not the Lyuda! As for the Slag Lyuda. It started slow but got a bunch on the 2nd 100 runs.
To be continued…

I’ve had this plenty. To the point that I fired up a different character to do the same run…and got a second 30+ dry run. :face_with_symbols_over_mouth:

Awesome work so far!!!

Nope. Still within the 95% confidence interval. If you really want to get into this stuff:

BTW I wrote up a short guide for the table function which provides info on alignment.

For some reasons the tables didn’t want to cooperate yesterday. So yeah, still heading in the same direction
The Veruc non-elemental drop % is “within parameter” to what seem mission rewards rate. Some of them at least. I wish I had taken notes on gun levels. Oh well. Someone probably did that already.
Now if you really have time to waste. I’m curious about the Gwen Head!:laughing::laughing:

Just so you’re not too discouraged @zer0blivion. I got my first corrosive Lyuda on my 250th run! Luckily it was on level. And a second one a dozen runs later, lvl 70. Not farming perfect parts for that one anytime soon…

Only another 689 to go! :stuck_out_tongue:

Seriously though, now you’re starting to get into some solid territory for inferential statistics. I don’t have the values for 300 runs handy right now, but an observed drop rate of ~10% with that many runs gives you a 95% confidence interval for the actual rate of ~6% (lower) to ~15% (Upper). (The distribution is slightly asymmetrical for this sort of statistics.)

Are you guys still doing this?

I did 20 runs yesterday, got 3 Fire Lyuda’s and 2 Non Elemental Veruc’s.
I actually got the drops in just 10 runs, but decided to do 10 more since I got lucky with so many Fire ones.

Been on hold while i was finishing leveling up my 6 characters to 72. I plan to do another 200 runs for a total of 500 in the coming week(s).
Thanks for the post and I really appreciate it. I’ve been thinking about that and in the future I’ll keep separate stats for “outsourced data”. For “quality control”. We have some a badass statistician around here and I better keep my stuff straight or I’ll hear about it!

p.s. I will eventually update the data on the silly part that prompted this thread/experiment. I have it on my laptop but as you can guess. Loadout doesn’t seem to influence the outcome.
Or does it…

Quite right.

With a small enough sample you can “scientifically prove” very strange things! :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

can’t remember the number of runs it took me, 8 maybe. it was less than 10. but it was the very first Lyuda that dropped for me on PC. Matching grip Corrosive Lyuda.

2nd to last 100 runs. Now at 400
I may or may not do the last 100 this week-end.
Numbers don’t change much at this point. Had another 30+ runs without any drops but otherwise wasn’t bad. The fire Lyudas accounted for 50% of all Lyudas drop.
Still haven’t got that elusive Corrosive Veruc :face_with_raised_eyebrow: .

Maybe not, but I know who to ask if I need a fire Lyuda! That’s actually a quite surprising result (although I’d need to calculate up the confidence intervals).

I’m fairly confident in the numbers. I most probably missed an empty run or two. :expressionless: Or maybe a drop.
On empty runs you (at least, I) go into “farm mode” so it’s easy to get lost and forget to enter it. Mobley disappear quickly so it’s not always obvious to find and confirm the spot. I almost missed one or two Veruc. But overall I’m satisfied with myself! .
I should be able to squeeze at least 50 runs today but no promises. As much as I want to be done with this as soon as possible. I kinda enjoy only playing for fun since I leveled all my VH to 72+ !

So here’s the final results.
Fun fact: While the drop rates stood below the theoric 10% for almost all the experience. A sudden “rush” happened in the 441 to 480! Which bring the results to what they are.

For some strange reason I can’t get the numbers to show more precise results. (decimals)
I’ll probably calculate those by hand and update the result later.
Enjoy.

Is the original in Excel? The row probably “inherited” integer format from the entries above. Right-click and choose Format Cell… -> Decimal

I tried something like that and they all ( the drop % results) showed x.00 :face_with_raised_eyebrow:

You should be able to just select the cells you want and then hit the format. Make sure there isn’t some sneaky “Apply to all” check box somewhere… Just love those helpful features MS likes to put in
