been farming the fabricator (i think i burned through +/- 150K eridium)
i think it spawns the same weapons as the vendor can spawn.
so it’s old weapons only… no DLC weapons and no kaoson and such (or they would be REALY rare seeing i havent seen one)
i think the problem they are having is that it’s hard for them to add DLC weapons because of the players without DLC. for the kaoson and such, probably to early to add them.

As already mentioned, this is deliberate. Adding a DLC check to prevent the machine spawning DLC items for non-owners that they would be unable to use does seem a step more complicated than simply checking your completed quests.
I’m hoping at some point GBX do extend the available items to include Crew Challenge rewards already unlocked, though.
What happens when i join someone who doesn’t own the DLC and they try to use the weapon? Im assuming it has text to say somewhere on the card that it cannot be used like with D2.
Now the point raised about non DLC owners, Why would they need to worry about this anyway? The rewards only unlock in the machine once you’ve been rewarded it, if i haven’t played the DLC or purchased it that would just mean the machine won’t spawn it, right?
Doesn’t owning or not owning the DLC already solve this, why does Gearbox even need a checker on the machine if i havnt been rewarded the item it wont spawn, whether i own the DLC or not.
I forgot about non co-op mode could be the reason for it, but the fact they cant use the gear they could purchase would be a good way to entice the person to purchase the DLC otherwise they just have a peice of gear in their inventory that cant be used.
What really bugs me is i believe these items are capable of dropping in game ive seen a few grenades drop. I just recently got a world drop bouncy exterminator on mayhem 10 lvl 60. Its a quest item reward blue value grenade. I cant seem to find any other loot source but the quest “life of the party”. And ive long done that at lvl 33 from what my other grenades telling me sitting in storage. I think the story missions items should all be added to the loot pools upon completion of all side quests and story missions. Personally i think that farming for them would make more sense then rolling a machine. Regardless. It will get tweaked, im almost certain they will be watching the forums.
The items would not show in the inventory as they are not part of the base games loot pools so the DLC would HAVE to be already purchased to show them. Regardless.
Oversimplyfying;
ItemIDs baseLegendaryItems; // array of all base game legendaries
ItemIDs dlcOneLegenedaries; // arrays of new items
ItemIDs dlcTwoLegendaries;
ItemIDs dlcThreeLegendaries;
ItemIDs dlcFourLegendaries;
// all those arrays should already exist somewhere in the game
then-
ItemIDs legsToPickFromForVendor; // an array
integer numberOfLegs;
CopyArrray(baseLgendaryItems,legsToPickFromForVEndor);
if(ownsDLC1){
AddObjectsToArray(dlcOneLegenedaries,
legsToPickFromForVEndor);
numberOfLegs += numberOfDLC1Legs;
I just mean they dont show in the machine due to not owning the content thats specificly been added to the dlc. So theyd have to add that gear list to the base game and then BLOCK it out until the dlc was purchased. Its counter intuitive.
So far, I have purchased some shields from missions from the vending machine, and these had anointments on them. Not having to creat a new character to obtain these mission items with different anointments is a big plus. I think adding mission items as purchasable gear with Eridium was a good addition. Could this be improved? Yes. But I am happy they at least did this.
my first look at Earl’s machine had a Traitor’s Death AR & a Buttplug. I plan on checking it often. The two vending machines next to Marcus have had lower tier Legendaries each time I checked.
This. When the first level cap increase happened, people were asking for a way to earn the DLC 1 quest items without having to restart the whole game. Guess they didn’t listen.
I’m glad that legendaries are possible, from the machine at least. I have only seen purple and blue items. And for the cost, they are pretty bad. Either the costs need to be reduced or the items need to be much better. And why only have one item? That means I have to wait what, 20 mins between refreshes or reload the game? Once again GBX fails at delivery of what was requested.
Also GBX - why would we want UNANOINTED mission reward items in the Crazy Earl machine? Isn’t the point of the Crazy Earl machine to get an anointed weapon?
I just got two unanointed Leeches in one machine. At least let them be anointed if they drop in the machine.
It’s a good addition, but they really need to add in the Bekah and other mail rewards to the pool. Most of the good mission rewards are from the DLCs. I’d really like to see each DLC have their own Veteran Rewards machines.
I still don’t understand why they take such utmost cautious with this vending machine. Even if said vending machine offer the full choice amongst all unique legendarie from all DLC, and base game it still wouldn’t be very OP
so i’m not the only one who thought this was weird
again, why would i bother handicapping myself using an unanointed weapon in M10? even a bad anointed makes it better then an unanointed version
also there’s again a problem with weapon scaling (or more like it shouldn’t be a thing…)
now everybody sets their game to M10, empties their eridium and voila… M10 weapons, shields and nades… go back into lower mayhem, farm classmod you need (with ease because of M10 scaled weapons) and voila… lower mayhem levels are more absolete then they where before…
if they would just drop the weapon scaling everybody would be playing the mayhem level they actualy can handle instead of jumping to M10 because that’s where you get the best items…
