Way too much sexual reference

you’ve missed the point. Try not wearing one at all. :flushed:

I’ve tried plenty of things :stuck_out_tongue:

I may have over stepped my bounds here. I shouldn’t assume such things…my bad.

Hehe. I’m not saying bras can’t be sexy… it’s just that their functionality is way more complex and important. It’s possible one of my characters will feel differently… and it’s probably going to be Axton…and he may make a different choice… we shall see. :smirk:

I almost always give Ellie the bikini just because I like the sarcastic comment she makes about such armor. Giving a little bit of a slap to the fingers on the usual sexy female armor around in games.

come oooooooon Axton! :sunglasses:

I’m fairly sure he’s already married to his Turret.
How scandalous!

I think the fact he spends so much time desperately hurling a rather underpowered phallus around suggests he really needs to find a girl

Underpowered? It’s not the power of your toy that matters! Just how you apply it. But features like a second barrel can help with its effectiveness.

Good golly what the ■■■■ has this thread become?! My partner thinks I’m a nerd being all nerdy and ■■■■ talking about video games, if she knew about this thread she’d join these forums in a split-second

I don’t recall Moxxi talking like a back alley slut in Borderlands 1, so people saying “she’s always been like that” - I don’t get. Perhaps I don’t remember something? If I’m wrong, Im wrong. And ADULT entertainment doesn’t mean everyone is talking about sex all the time. As a matter of fact, it is Mature because of the violence (or it used to be), Borderlands is not Euro-Hentai, its a Shooter-Rpg. The should be some SUBTLETY - the comments are way over the top - and the messaging feels like it’s is preachy and scripted right out of the SJW headquarters…

When I say way too much sexual reference, I mean that literally. I am not talking about SOME sexual reference - I’m talking almost every interaction throws in some statement about sex. That is the ENTIRE game, not just Moxxie. And it still objectifies women, only it uses female characters to do it instead of male characters.

Funny thing is - all of the sexual dialogue I keep getting bombarded with and guess what character is silent, of all characters, on sexual matters? BRICK. Cruel, blunt, neanderthal that usually say the most base thing - but in a game where everyone is talking about sex Brick says NOTHING. Brick should be smacking asses and talking like a horny construction worker from the eighties before the SJW shut them down - but he never says anything sexual (I haven’t finished the game so if you have an example more power to you). I wonder why that is?

Its not about the sexual comments which I cant understand have ANYTHING to do with saving the planet… It’s about the AMOUNT and its way over the top. Moxxie doesn’t just mention her girlfriend, she talks as if she has had sex with everyone in the game. That isn’t adding to the game or her character in any way, and doesn’t make Moxxie sexy - just makes her the tart of Borderlands.

It scares me to think what Moxxie’s weapons will be if they decide to make her a playable character… First she’ll impale you… and then she’ll impale you…

Aaaand I’m done with the thread. Farewell you guys, it was nice while it lasted.

Why do people feel the need to leave a comment like this? If your done then your done, no need to announce it like people are waiting for your next Axton with a bra comment…

I’m just going to leave this here about Moxxi in Borderlands 1.
"For now, I’ll get my jollies off on bringing pain this way… or maybe this way. And in the end, the crowd will love me for my brutality. I’ll make them yearn for more and more of my pain. I’ll be cruel and enjoy myself. When the thrill wears off, I’ll leave and find a new toy."
And this one,
Baby, baby, baby… You’re doing so well. I can’t stop now…"
Maybe this one too,
"Oh, just one… more… And then I’ll let you rest."
Most of her comments are like that in Borderlands 1. She owned a bar called the ‘red light’ A pun both as a stop light and red light district.

More specifics would be nice though. What comments objectify women? Rarely would I say anything objectifies women in this game. This game is probably filled with more badass women than the entire AAA gaming industry. Pandora is a cruel and violent place but it is infinitely more progressive than our own. No one says women shouldn’t fight, no one questions the ability of Helena Pierce to lead. Mr. Torgue even states very loudly in his dlc, "THERE IS NOTHING MORE BADASS THAN TREATING A LADY WITH RESPECT."
The only vague times I can remember women actually being disparaged are by people like Deadlift or Jack. One of whom is a degenerate bandit, the other a vengeful psychopath. Not exactly the pillars of morality people are going to be basing their ideas of what is acceptable behavior on.

Brick is in to punching things, violence, and puppies. He isn’t and has never been a sexual character. Just because he’s violent and a little simple does not in any way suggest he should also be a sexual person. There’s no connection. That’s just a stereotype, like saying all people with tattoos are bad people.

Also, how can this game objectify women AND preach SJWness? Those are polar opposites ideas.
And yes we are waiting for his next Axton with a bra comment. This entire thread is filled with similar silly comments.

I really can’t agree with this for two reasons. Firstly, it’s simply not true, the only woman being “objectified” in any way is Moxxi and she does it to herself, it’s part of her character. There is no objectification of any other female characters in the game, and Moxxi is only an NPC with a relatively minor role, she’s just there but she’s not overly important she’s just popular.

Secondly, the idea that anybody is objectified is subjective, if you choose to view it that way or get offended it by it than that’s your opinion. Krieg and Torgue are tall, muscly, shirtless manly men, are they being objectified? There is no answer, that’s subjective. The idea of objectifying women is a feminist paradigm, but when women do it like that radical group FEMEN walking round naked with “SLUT” painted on their bodies it’s acceptable according to their own paradigm because they’re women objectifying themselves, which is not objectifying. So, Moxxi objectifying herself, is that objectification or is she a radical feminist? Subjective.
