Weapon Results to target Self

Hi,

I’ve added a “barrage” ability to my battlecruiser where it increases its rate of fire for 10 seconds.

What I would like is for it to shutdown (like its used all its power firing) for 20 seconds.
My idea was to add the same result as the EMP weapon but have it target the ship firing it instead of the target.

AddWeaponResult(NewWeaponType,"Hit","Disable","Owner",20000,100000,"");
AddWeaponResult(NewWeaponType,"Miss","Disable","Owner",20000,100000,"");

But it still disables the target ship.
Karos says “Owner” is a valid argument but having searched the other wepn files I can’t find any that use it.

Any ideas?

Well for one, you can use my WeaponEditor to make this easier for you :stuck_out_tongue:

From there, to ensure that the “owner” target is working try adding some really high “recoil” force to something like an ioncannon frigate. One example (that you’ll probably see in that thread) is that Sajuuk’s main weapon has a knockback effect. So do something similar to the ioncannon and see what it does.

If it does then use your new EMP effect instead of a force. GL :smiley:

I haven’t tested it recently, but as far as I recall self-targetting effects don’t work in HW2.

I’d be happy to be wrong, though.

Unfortunately I think @EatThePath is right. Self-Targetting doesn’t work.

When I added “Push” instead of “Disable” the target when flying off the screen.
