“Fascinating”: That’s a good start to a defence of someone who I criticised for sounding condescending…
Can you clarify as to what you’re actually saying here? At first I wasn’t even sure if it was me you were responding to, because everything you say here is seems like a non sequitur to my comment besides the reference to my remark on the “many” dissatisfied people that you seem to have taken issue with.
I’m basically saying people are justified in many of their grievances with the game currently. I’m not saying I share them.
in the same post you complain about Remastered not being a carbon copy of the originals
…No? Again, I’m saying that people are justified in being miffed by the HW1 gameplay mechanics that were broken or completely absent from HWR, and continue to be a year later.
AND complaining that Remastered is just a carbon copy of the originals without any improvements
Again, it’s the lack of functioning HW1 mechanics that I’m mostly referring to as justification for players’ annoyance with the game. If the game was released as a graphics update with all gameplay elements from the originals intact, it would certainly receive no criticism from me, or many others, based on their problems with the game that they’ve articulated.
The many I refer to are the large group people who won’t ever respond to your euphoric “it delivered rather spectacularly on everything they promised” remark, because they have basically left the community to play other games because of their disappointment at expecting either an improved homeworld game, or one with just the updated graphics and preserved gameplay, and receiving neither. At launch, they couldn’t even get the campaign finished in many cases even if they wanted to as a result of problems with crashes and other major bugs. And good luck if they expected a functional multiplayer experience.
Can you cite the raving reviews for the game that doesn’t consist of steam users with 6 hours played, or vague reviews from game critics that don’t go into any detail about what the game achieved, I’m genuinely curious to read them.
Once more, because the community here seems to rabidly oppose anything resembling negativity, I’ll reiterate that I have few grievances with the game personally, but I have nothing but contempt for the regular belittling of people who are critical of the game that I have seen for months now by veteran members of the community - a dwindling community, I would argue.
