What are you reading right now?

Really, did you watch it, any good?

Not sure which pic I prefer, I have this one.

It was pretty good if you’ve read the books.
The guy they picked for Dresden was a good fit.
I cant remember his name but I’ve seen him in other stuff.

I will have to try and watch it, looks completely separate from the main books which I like

Nice!

Seemed horrifyingly relevant to this particular thread.

Weird… I love our local bookstore for all the reasons mentioned therein.

At the moment, I’m reading Cinder, which was a gift for my birthday. It’s very ā€œyoung-adultā€ , and as someone who has delighted in ā€œhardā€ science fiction for most of my life, a few things have been cringe-worthy. That said, these haven’t been deal-breakers, it’s otherwise easy reading, and I do care about the characters. There’s a good chance that I’ll read the rest of the ā€œLunar Chroniclesā€ in this series if the rest of the book maintains itself.

Of course, I’m the perfect gift for your birthday.

A ā€œfriendā€ got it for me.

Having finished that, I’m reading Isaac Asimov’s ā€œThe Gods Themselvesā€.

Ooh. Damn. That reminds me I need to check the library a town away. Read them up to when they were printed in english then, haven’t checked back in there since I moved away.

Oooh, good choice. If the games had been one whit less brilliant than they were, I would have said they didn’t do the series justice, but damn…

I’m currently reading this one for the third time:

A bunch of comics both old and new. Too many to list at the moment.

Do you ever get impulses to do really stupid things? I do. Last weekend I started reading Samuel Beckett’s novels.

This first one seems to be about a crippled guy riding around France feeling miserable. Not a lot has happened yet :grimacing:

The worrying thing is I seem to have read it before, because it’s got annotations and stuff, but I don’t remember doing that!

A little taste:
ā€˜And if I failed to mention this detail in its proper place, it is because you cannot mention everything in its proper place, you must choose, between the things not worth mentioning and those even less so. For if you set out to mention everything you would never be done, and that’s what counts, to be done, to have done. Oh I know, even when you mention only a few of the things there are, you do not get done either, I know, I know. But it’s a change of muck.’

Welcome to Irish writing.

The fires of heaven

I was going to read the Borderlands book I got a while ago (I have a huge reading backlog.), but I can’t seem to find it at the moment.

Soooooo I’m going to start reading Splintered by A.G. Howard. I’m so biased towards anything Alice in Wonderland related, it isn’t even funny. x.x

Batman 23 and 24. One minute you’re on a case with Swamp Thing, and the next… well I’m going to avoid spoilers.

I just picked up The Peripheral by William Gibson. I’m hoping for a work like his earlier stuff, but we’ll see.
