If this game had shipped with your ideal form of matchmaking. Some say find 10 and scramble them into the most convenient teams, some say ranked with visible rankings and a draft, and what kind it is doesn’t matter. But if this game from even beta had the matchmaking you would find most helpful, where would this game be now?

Honestly I think matchmaking at all has been a mistake.
Instead they should have a public lobby, which the Discord server now serves as instead. (Which splits the community and queues further by the way, since it’s unofficial, even though it’s “official”.)
And on most days you’re either matchmaking for 10 to 60 minutes before finding people to play with, or you go get on Discord… The Proof is in the Pudding. It’s a shame when the players have to invent the solutions for an actively maintained game. =(
