Farmed the circle of duty for stuff. Nothing good though.

Alright, sorry if this is off-topic but I’m a noob and I’ve got a couple of questions:

I’m around lv. 40 and in the process of completing every quest in the game on my first playthrough. From what I understand, you can’t reset your UVHM or whatever it’s called in this, correct? So if I’m doing everything, I wanna do it in normal mode?

Second, I’m very curious about Crawmerax. Is he doable solo in normal mode at this level? (playing Lilith) Or is he kinda like Terra? (you usually finish Normal around lv. 30, but he’s lv. 50)

There’s no reset option, and only really two modes. Play-through 1 is equivalent to NVHM, while play-through 2 is TVHM. Once you complete main story on Pt.2, you’re in what’s called Pt.2.5, where everything is levelled up.

You might want to take a look at this post (ported from the old forums) before you go any further:

About Crawmerax - I’ve only ever fought him once, and in co-op, so I can’t answer that question. I wouldn’t attempt him with a level 40 character though - he’s supposed to be an end-game runable raid boss, so much like Terra.

Crawmerax is always end game levels, at least 3 above you. He does have less health in PT1 though.

Craw is minimum level 64 (he’ll be 3 levels above you from level 61-68, at max level 69 he’ll be 2 levels above you, hence he’s actually more doable at that point).

He’s supposedly easier on Normal mode, but I certainly wouldn’t recommend duelling him at level 40.

LOL, you a noob?! ya right! lol and this is not off-topic. I would consider this a question about what you did last, or what you will do next. I consider this on-topic.

I say put your big boy pants on and go say hi.

Just teasing, good to see you in here @jhunter922 :acmaffirmative:

OT: I have been considering deleting some characters to force myself to replay the story line. I am addicted to end game. I need a refresher, so-to-speak. thinking about restarting a full playthrough, then moving to TPS and doing the same, and then to BL2 rinse/repeat. get the storyline in it’s progression(at least how i see it progressing anyways).

Delete!?!? hahah. I just make a new one. That way I can have multiple builds of the same classes at max level.

if it were only that easy, for me. My personality won’t allow it at this point. I just load up my fav character and play end game. I think about it. But when it comes times to do it. I remember all the farming runs I have yet to complete. getting that perfect drop. So, I keep at it. its an addiction.

I like to keep 1 character as my main per class. So, a Lilith, Roland, Brick and Morti. I change their builds when ever I feel like it. I like keeping track of time played. and spreading that out over multiple characters would be a bear to try and gather for total time played. personal preference.

In Playthrough 1, knock yourself out. Do whatever and how many quests you fancy. But beware of a few points:

  1. There are two SDUs, one in the Zombie Island DLC and one in the Claptrap Robot revolution, which are guaranteed drops, but ONLY before you enter the Vault. Once you’ve done that, they are no longer guaranteed, so if you want them, bear that in mind
  2. Any quests you accept in PT2 will deliver their prize at the level when you accept it. So It’s best not to accept those quests until you start 2.5 (after you defeat the Vault in PT2 if you want things to scale endgame

Good luck!

Overcame the odds in Lost Cavern with @Stouty22 last night.

If you throw enough corpses at the enemy, you’ll end up with a lot of corpses.

using a pro com on lilith with a swift anaconda. i really need to practice. high damage output if you can land crits, which seems to be my issue. died a couple times.

I seem to remember Craw is susceptible to Shock. If you have one, an S&S Orion works wonders with him.

Correct. But this is what I’m going for:

Take a look at the vid for Lilith. That’s what I’m trying to do. I am just not as awesome as @Stouty22 at it, yet.

Started a new Lilith and at level 3 jumped the fence and got a car.

If you don’t know how to jump the fence,
Just stand to the right of the skull at the closed gate and jump up. (easy)

Joined @Kurtdawg13 and someone else for some Pt2.5 farming runs, which is not something I’ve done a whole lot of. It was fun! I do need to go back and respec my Mordy know he’s no longer levelling up though.

Edit: Went back and sorted through all Mordecai’s loot, then checked over his missions. Apparently I still hadn’t gone back to the Vault to complete the main story - shocking! So I did that and turned it in. Then I loaded Lilith up and did the same thing; discovered LOTS of untouched side quests, so I polished off a chunk of the Dahl Headlands ones while working on Eridian weapon proficiency. Breaking news: Scythids are more annoying than Varkids.

Edit 2: I am now the proud owner of a collection of 250 maggot-infested brains. Think i’ll give them away. Also, Corpse Eaters are actually more annoying than Scythids, because the main area where they attack you results in major frame rate jitters.

Edit 3: Got rid of all the brains. Acquired a ton more on my way to handing them in, but didn’t need them - should have taken that into account and headed back before getting the full quota. The good news is that sniper and shotgun proficiencies are both up. Then went to clear a bunch more side quests in Rust Commons; poor Patricia Tannis, what a crazy mixed up person! I’m trying to get some of my other proficiencies up a bit, so I’ll probably head back to the Armoury at some point.

I really enjoy bringing friends along when this is the case. You’ve now been exposed to a ton of really decent loot very quickly. Some of it very good loot. I’m glad you came along.[quote=ā€œVaultHunter101, post:317, topic:1274421ā€]
It was fun!

indeed it was. I love cooping. so much fun.

Did you mean Craw? Which leads me to my next question. Would you like to join @Laggy and myself for some more Craw/armory runs? Gonna start a private match when I get home. I’ll shoot you an invite if I see you online.

In two minds about that. I have Armoury open on my Lilith, but I also discovered I never completed Circle of Duty with Mordy, and never even started it with Lilith. I still have to whittle down my inventory on both those characters a bit, as it seems to fill back up again all too quickly.

Anyway, cooking supper right now. Assuming I get back to the XB1 first after supper, I’ll pop BL1 back in and see what happens.

I had forgotten about the little ā€œpay backā€ I was able to accomplish on @Laggy . Laggy had done a little shenanigans on me and rammed my car almost flipping me. took me off course…While @VaultHunter101 and I were in one of the Runners. I got my payback when Laggy got stuck jumping the ramps to traverse the large gap in the hwy. I was able to jump the ramp and crash right on top of him. It was fricken hilarious. I was chuckling for quite a while after that. I believe it was VH that muttered, ā€œpaybackā€. lol
