What did you do in BL1 during your most recent session?

When I attempted to do the long rounds solo, I used a second controller to make sure the enemies spawned at level 15. If all you’re after are the trophies, this is the way to do it. If you wanna feel like you earned it, however, best of luck to you. Because I’ve done the 20-round tournaments legit (not solo, though) and they are a bear.

I ran the Descent with my Bloodwing-build Mordecai last night, just clearing the whole map (certainly this map is a lot faster than the Rust Commons ones). Had an interesting issue where the SuperBad Guardian right at the beginning slipped on an edge or something, because it tumbled right on down to the bottom floor of that opening area. Took out the Seras with a shock Cobra (still working on that CR proficiency) before hopping down and taking out the SuperBad with a Thunderstorm (still working on Eridian proficiencies, too). Those two weapons were my go-tos for Guardian enemies (the Cobra took care of the Sera Guardians, with its nice Hyperion accuracy, and the Thunderstorm took care of any ground-bound Guardians), and I busted out a Plague for the Lance. Shotgun proficiency is sitting right at 49, so that one is almost complete. Combat Rifle proficiency is around 20, and Eridian proficiency is in the mid-30s. Pretty successful evening for Mordy and the Bird.

Lilith returneth! Running through the Fyrestone missions quick fast in a hurry thanks to coming in over-leveled from play through one with no DLC. Level 35 is a nice place to be, but even a level 33 Bonehead is a pain, but Nine Toes, he took the L expediently. Taking a break to switch loads from washer to dryer, and it’s back to Skag Gully to give Scar the business.

UPDATEvsDOUBLEPOST

Made quick work of the Arid Badlands, and though I didn’t get Skagzilla’s AI to stall with Phasewalk like I did in PT1 I did somehow manage to completely wreck Mad Mel with a Phaseblast that took him from 90% health to a smoldering black of charred metal in seconds. It was so satisfying, but then I got cheaped by a rocket salvo from one of the two runners still roaming the arena.

I marathon’d the New Haven and Rust Common’s missions up to the Krom’s Canyon set of missions and am reaching the point where I am no longer over-leveled so I have to decide if using phasewalk to speed my way through the missions, or kill everything in sight to get that X(tra) P(erience) is my best option. We shall see.

“Farmed” motorhead.

Well more like killed him every 15 mins as he spawned because I was to lazy to drive to him repeatedly.

I’ve done this as well. Once I figured out he’d respawn on a timer and not on a reload. But, I would get extremely bored if I was to repeatedly do that method. I’d have to be cooking or multitasking for me to do that. Too much idle time. lol

Edit: I started a new Roland since @farsight37 has been too busy to pick up where we left off at level 25 holding an awesome Hellfire(thats not being used) :unamused:

So I’m at level 19 and made it to Lucky’s watering hole. farmed the machine for some good gear. Its been about a decade since I’ve tried going through the storyline. Its been tough, I have to stop my progress and go do side missions for the xp or farm areas that yield good xp to be able to keep progressing without dying a lot. I’m enjoying the challenge however.

Money is an issue early on. What I have been doing to make sure I can “buy” an item when a really good one comes up, is farm Taratus Station for the 3 chests in the beginning. I fill up my back pack and sell it all. I have over $100K right now. just incase a good Leg comes up as Item of the Day.

I’ve sometimes done that for SDUs in the past, since the ammo machine right by spawn sells the orange ones. A cheaty little trick, but hey…

what ammo machine? In Tatarus Station? the spawn pole is down the hill from Tannis. I have to run up that hill and right through Tannis’ little room to the 2 white chests near her. I then run behind that room she’s in and follow the cliff ledge that leads you to a red chest. since it’s kinda far to get to, I save/quite after popping that chest. I would love to know if I’m missing an ammo machine with orange colored SDU’s cause I"ve only progressed to the blue SDU’s and would love to pull that “cheeky little trick” off myself.

There’s the ammo machine just through the map exit to Hyperion dump, and the one downstairs at the station (which also means some extra red and grey chests to farm).

Unless @MeltintheSun is thinking of T-Bone Junction?

That was my impression since Meltinthesun stated right next to where you spawn.

Ha, yep. Too many Ts. There are 3 chests and a few lockers in T-bone that you can farm as well to accomplish the same thing, and there IS an ammo machine by spawn there!

Easily done. I’ve actually travelled to one in order to do a mission from the other’s DLC multiple times.

I had been struggling with rescuing Lucky after killing 15 bandits. A few fails and I decided to re-tool. This showed up and did the job nicely. Yay for mat3.

Edit: it would be even more deadly if it had a scope. But, man does this baby proc a lot. Lightening everywhere!

I would really like to get back to the Roland i started with you and Vint. I leave him so we can pick up where we left off. Please advise if you’ve carried on with your char on your own. That would be important info for me, since I’m holding off for you.

I haven’t played that Roly Poly at all since our last session together. He’s right where we left him, which I think is at the beginning of the Scrapyard.

I had a friend reach out for some BL1 co-op. It was very educational. co-oping with a cool Borderlands veteran. Learning SG barrels and accessories. Killed Craw a good handful of times. Enough to where I could no longer see the drops. I was not the host. Had a blast though.
@Stouty22 :wink:

Edit: I am constantly humbled by vets like @Stouty22 @billthebetta @farsight37 and others…
I’ve been playing since release date and still am learning…The vet I gamed with isn’t in here, but he is a borderlands almanac of weapon parts and accessories. I love learning.

Finished PT2 with Lilith, Adam’s first bride, and after forever got a Hellfire in a chest. A little too late since it was all about electric and corrosion at that stage in the game. Ended up respecing because the Phoenix fire was obscuring my view too much. Ended up repurposing those points elsewhere. Time to double back and do DLC and try and get to level 69. Currently sitting at 53 or 54, I forget… But back to Maya of Themyscira in UVHM first.

I’ve been working on a long-abandoned Shotguns-only Roland for the last couple of months when my internet is down. Finally hit 69 today.

Maybe now I can respec and play with some other guns!

hey what’s with that partial CR and SR proficiency!? And Tediore as your banner? Congrats on finishing it…I still have a half-done shotgun Roland somewhere too.

Ran the Eridian Promontory with Mordecai a handful of times last night. Got my shotgun proficiency up to 50, and took my Eridian proficiency from 37 up to 50. So that’s two more proficiencies done with ol’ Mordy. Started working on rocket launchers next. They were sitting at 14, but a single run through the Promontory got them up to 25. Bloodwing makes real quick work of the Sera Guardians, and my Nidhogg takes care of any ground-bound Guardians with relative ease. It was a pretty fun session and it was nice to see some progress made on those proficiencies!
