What did you do in BL1 during your most recent session?

All right! @Kurtdawg13 joined me for some Pt.2.5 Knoxx DLC. We ran through the Purple Juice and Skyscraper missions before heading out to do the Circle of Duty. Got some nice drops and vending machine finds along the way - I’ll probably catalogue those tomorrow. We also learned that the Circle is not like the BL2 ones - if any player dies, it’s round over and restart. Whoops! Final round, the second Lancer vehicle decided to park over near the entrance; so much easier to shoot that thing when all the crew have gotten out and gone off for ice cream!

And then, at the end of a long evening, there was this:

That is one SWEET SMG.

So, running around as a level 40-something Roland after swanning around as an all-powerful siren was… difficult. Turns out, I forgot how to soldier! Died way too many times getting past Mad Mel, and those stupid turrets where you get the runner parts for Scooter. Let’s just say, Scooter owes me big-time for that. Hopefully I can get back into the swing of things soon so Roland can join Mordecai and Lilith in the ranks of the max ranked.

They spawn in certain spots. I always clear the sewage pipes (for that mission) then swing into the junk area from that side. Taking cover and hitting them from really close or very far away always does the trick.

The flinching from turrent fire in BL1 sucks and it makes them far more of a pain than they are in BL2.

I put in a few hours with melee Brick last night. I started out having to liberate Jaynistown from its evil dictator, only to put a more evil dictator in place afterwards. MY BAD. So I went and fixed that by killing him too. Then I went to the Trash Coast, rescued a Claptrap, and killed a giant beast that appears to have its sexual reproduction organs located in the facial area. Nothing a decent Equalizer couldn’t handle!

Following that, I returned to Tannis, who told me she needed a Claptrap to open the way to Salt Flats. Not wanting to be too kind to Claptraps, I sidetracked to Tartarus Station and killed a bunch of them. I tried to be nice and rescue one who was injured, but he turned on me and summoned backup. So I killed all of them. And then took their Backpack SDU for good measure.

Returning to the main game, I rescued two Claptraps in Old Haven, killed Baron Flynt, rescued the Claptrap in the Salt Flats, made my way to the Back Door (heh), killed Master McCloud, and then trekked on through the Crimson Fastness. I made my final Claptrap rescue, freed Tannis, and called it quits upon reaching the Crimson Enclave. Overall a very productive session, and I’ll probably end up heading to the Destroyer next time I fire Brick up.

EDIT: mixing up my endgame bosses, whoops.

Ran the Crazy Earl missions up to unlocking Krom’s Canyon. Having some minor gear-related issues, and I’m going down more than I’d like (even though Pt.2 at level). I think I need to figure out which class mod of the set I have works best, and go from there. Is there an equivalent to bl2skills.com for BL1?

I jumped in @VaultHunter101 2.5 play through. He’s described most of what we did. I am going to add that I died twice in the Circle of Duty. Pretty sure they were both in round 4 when the damn vehicle comes out. One time it veered over to purposely run me over when I was off to the side unloading my weapon on someone. I was running and thought I had evaded it. But no. It veered off its path to run my ass over. After that I was done in again by the vehicle. This time I evaded it and as it passed me it fired off a shock orb and blasted my ass. VH was running around and I saw him run right by me. Over here dude! I was a bit off the path and tucked away in the corner so it was hard for VH to find me. lol oh well. But that SMG reward from Gearbox was sweet!

Still farming for the full pearl set, got another drop tonight but unfortunately another undertaker. Took twenty four farmoury and sixty craw runs since my last pearl drop. On a positive note my two max storage deck characters are coming along nicely and am just have the Knox Dlc to complete on the first play through

Ha en’t played the original game for a veeeery long tine so thought I’d start a new Roland (my favourite character). I’d forgotten what a joy BL1 was right from the start. The weapons are just so rewarding to use and the fun in exploring is unparalleled. Of course the big downside is that I didn’t get much sleep and refused to stop until I’d completed the Arid Badlands, but that’s addiction for you!.

Have always enjoyed living dangerous with Lilith:

Finally got around to tackling Moxxi’s Underdome properly, with a well-geared Lilith. Hellburbia down, two to go. I’ll be on later today for at least one more, if anyone on 360/XB1 is up for it.

Edit: At one point, Moxxi taunted me by saying, “What do you want, a pony?!”

Why yes, I do want a pony. A DIAMOND pony. Thanks!

Edit: Much later, and I’ve now done the first “Prove Yourself” in the Angelic Ruins. Reaver was kind enough to drop a corrosive Surkov, which was nice.

Also can someone confirm: you don’t get increases in weapon proficiencies in the Underdome? Because if that’s true then this siren is going SMG all the way…

Tried running Craw solo, but failed miserably. Ah well…

Started a new game with Lilith from scratch, buffed her up a little with XP and $ in T-Bone J and went from the beginning.
Got some cool stuff on my way that is worth mentioning…

I don’t think I’ve ever seen a Cracked Sash in BL1 before. I’ve seen the BL2 version a couple of times, but that’s it. Good haul to start off with!

You don’t get any experience, so no proficiency either. SMG baby!

That makes things SO much easier. I won’t have to sweat finding those mega ammo crates anywhere near as much!

So I uninstalled the game and reinstalled from disc, disconnected internet from my PS3 so I could replay the game the way it was when I fell in love with it, unpatched. I did this Saturday morning and played as much as I could over the weekend. I’m up to level 32 and just entered Trash Coast after I collected all of the Ryders available (8 different versions).
I can’t wait to find a Thanatos with White text. Pearlescents before pearlescents. Loving the red chests in New Haven. Excited to get to 2.5 and relive the Borderlands that I remember. The game where I met my best friend. Many friends. When Orange Legendaries were actually rare. When 48 was the highest level gear you could find before cap increases. Before unlimited Armory loot raids. Before cheat killing Crawm every 2 mins. The game was balanced and the bugs nostalgic.
